Re: Help! weird buzz when acclering

Ok:

SiR: Noise comes from passenger (RHD remember) side. Not the ECU, not the VSS (I replaced mine) not a loose heat shield or anything else jangling. It's not the PS pump, alternator or A/C pump (repbuilt, replaced, disconnected respectively. The only thing I can think of is it's the injectors

Cheers
Pete

Re: Help! weird buzz when acclering

Mine does it when the engine is under a load or working hard, ie: take offs, hills. If I don't accelerate and am in the right gear or coasting it doesn't do it. It sounds kinda like a motorcycle or a baseball card in the spokes of a bike. You said that if it does it under a load that it narrows down what it could be substantially. I'm afraid it'll be engine. How can I check? What about the alt or comp? How do I check those?

Re: Help! weird buzz when acclering

Someone online told me that nissans are noutorious for developing a loose timing chain at about 80 thousand miles. He said that I should install a new timeing chain. My SUV uses dual chains on a V6, a kit is about 140 bucks. It should be an easy do it yourselfer. He said that my tourqe converter is probably bad and that I should take it out and have it rebuilt for about 80 bucks. I hope this helps.

Re: Help! weird buzz when acclering

You need to increase your knowledge of Hondas :? They ALL run timing belts, not chains. Torque convertors are for autos only, I don't think there are too many auto ED/EF drivers here.

'bout what you'd expect from an SUV driver though :P

Re: Help! weird buzz when acclering

I found the problem! It was an exhaust leak near the engine, at the manifold.
