The ZX2 is very slow. Its an econo car, like the base civic coupe. The civic has 20% more horsepower and only 10% more weight. Plus, ford tends to overestimate their horsepower, while the new SI dynoes at a respectable 160hp at the wheel (motor companies post flywheel horsepower, not actually wheel/ground horsepower).
BTW, saying you wouldnt buy a ford just because its a ford is just plain dumb. THere is no way you could justify a statement like that. I wont try to change your mind, so you can be that way all you like.

Blah, blah, blah............and it goes on and on..........Ford this, Ford that.
How about Chevy Blazers with the exploding saddle gas tanks, 12 bolt rear ends that lose axles, Chevy cars with Ford 9 inch rear ends adapted to the Chevy frame, the Citation, the Vega (stock, V8 conversions are cool), Mustang II rack and pinion conversions on bowties, so what else is new...and don't get me started on rice transmissions made out of aluminum cans!

lol it is nice and dandy to say how many chevy's might have a ford rear, however how many old fords do you think have a 350 chevy in it?
Ford makes some great trucks (excluding ford exploder), but their cars suck. I would never buy one. |

I'm assuming that is because of the whole tire blow-out fiasco, right?

nope, early exploders had a problem with the 4x4. The gears would lock up in the transfer case and the car would basically rip apart. It would 'splode and crash, or hit the tank, or fule lines. Ive seen one tosty from it, not a pretty sight.
Chevy Lumina, this is all I need to say against chevy, I need say no more.

So why wouldn't you buy a Geo? Are you so much better than everyone else that your image would be tainted? Not everyone can afford and wants an Infinity, so because you can you'll be a snob and complain about everyone else's car?
I've owned Fords, Chevys, Pontiacs, VWs, Mazdas, Mopars, Nissans and even Hyundais. They were all various styles, from all out drag racing cars, sports models and even econo-boxes. They all served their purposes at the time, so until you have many more years under your belt, I'd suggest you follow a wise saying, "Sometimes it better to keep ones mouth shut, than to open it and remove all doubts".

The only Ford's I conciously avoid are the one's that have been tainted by the foul hand of Bill Ford who canceled the lovely F-Type. GOD I HATE HIM FOR THAT!!!!!!!! Bill Ford, the jackass who dropkicked Jac Nasser out of the position of rebuilding Ford because Willy couldn't go to the Firestone family reunion. Bill Ford, the man who lost Wolfgang Reitzle, the genius who put Ian McCallum as head of styling at Aston Martin and Jaguar. (You know that sexy Vanquish, or the XK8/R, or the DB7, that's McCallum at work). Reitzle turned the Premier Auto Group into something respectable and profitable and was gunning for Porsche's pie with the all new F-type, a sexy roadster styled in the vein of Jaguar racers of yore, right down to the wrap-around windshield that flowed into the sculptured headrests, powered by the supercharged AJ-V8, which produces 340hp and linked to a Gertrag Six-Speed tranny. This little sweetheart of a car would have only weighed around 2700lbs, thanks to extensive use of aluminum and carbon fiber. The kicker? It would have cost $5000 LESS THEN THE BOXSTER S!!!!!! They had a pre-registration list (gives you chance to get on a waiting list to purchase the car if it goes into production) that would've had them back logged for 4 years. Bill Ford canceled the car because he thought it wouldn't be a profitable venture, unlike the Aviator. Lincoln's version of the Explorer.
GOD I HATE THAT MAN!!!! HATE HATE HATE HATE JUDITH SHIENDLEN HATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
