10 or so lbs. of boost on a b16 can make almost 300hp to the wheels, and i've seen it.

it's not the psi that's in question, it's the stock internals. i'm sure on stock internals at 20ish psi, you could make 450hp...

for a minute on the dyno until one of your pistons eats itself...

15psi on a correctly built motor should net 450ish hp easily...

I doubt these figures very much.

which figures?

my friends 00 si made 275 or so at about 6500 when the stock clutch started slipping.

custom t3 turbo kit, installed by twistec here.

he sold the car, so i can't go and prove it, but i'm not sure what you're looking for.

all he had was the turbo kit and the usual bolt ons...

170hp more to the wheels from 10psi? hrmm...a lil tough to believe, but it is possible. frien w/ a turbo'd SOHC sol, pushes 180 to the wheels at only 6 lbs of boost. that'd be about an 80hp gain to the wheels...but depends on size of turbo also, an the fuel, condition of motor...etc, etc...

i'm a half supporter FLYWSI

Figures definitely off I think...My best friend Brett has a turbo SI with a correctly built motor...I should know, we built it 300hp to the wheels takes a bit more than 10 lbs. More like 15 - 17 or so. Beyond that, making 450hp requires in the mid 20s for boost. And the SI is running a T4 turbo btw.

Yeah, I'm not buying this. I want some hard proof.

Also, you speak of SCC, guess what won their Sport Compact Car of the year award, a Neon.

i'd give you more proof, but it doesn't exist, as the car is gone, and the dyno sheets are no more.

i'm simply saying that this goof ball with 450hp on a stock motor is definitely a friend with MARY J.

that's kinda what my point was.

and i'm not going to try to make you believe me, as i've got no proof. take it for what it's worth.

I wouldn't underestimate Neon's, the new SRT-4 is set up with a Mitsubishi TD04-L-16GK turbocharger pressurizing the intake manifold of a 2.4-liter SOHC 16-valve four cylinder. It runs the 1/4 mile stock 14.2 sec. Its a very impressive automobile.

460hp??????? HOLY CRAP! B16a? internal work????? what was your torque rating? Thats amazing.

Out of the factory, the Neon SRT blows the civic and a lot of other more high end sports cars away. The new turbo neon kicks ass. If you think not then you got sour grapes.:alien:

I think the new neon is pretty badass, but i don't think that it is really anything to be surprised about. I mean, what are you gonna expect when you got a 2.4L Turbocharged engine boosting I think around (I wanna say 12) 7 lbs of boost.. of course its gonna be fast. The only nifty about it is that its going for under 20,000..
