Well, my car is running again - woohoo - it was the distributor. Something was bad in the distributor. It was giving crank angle sensor errors and TDC errors and Cylinder 1 position errors and wouldn't let me rev over 3k. But I got the new distributor today put it in and the car started right up, all I had to do was adjust the timing belt one tooth and adjust distributor for the timing - it's running great. I'm going to recheck the timing later tonight and check my cooland and oil to make sure I have everything ok. Next project - replace the axles - they're popping.

Not too hard. They're easier than chains. Chains wear out too.

My car is running great now - actually running smoother than before. I've replaced the distributor, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs, head gasket, intake gasket, oil and coolant. Everything is great now.

Thanks for the help.

If you damanged the valves you would know it. They go with a big loud bang. If you heard nothing and the car just died, your fine. Replace the belts and water pump and your good to go.

Hell yes I read the whole load of babble, did you? I answered his original question. NO his valves would be fine if they did not get crunched by the pistons. He replaced the belt but had other troubles. If/when he replaced the belt he should have replaced the water pump, ITS REQUIRED, but one would only know that if they knew what the hell they were doing. Get a shop manual and 25 years experience wrenching.....
