I've received a response. Randy told me my order is going out this week. As for my emails, I suppose it's the email problems that he recieves but I'm glade he recieved my last email.
I'll let you know when the parts come in, and maybe take a few pictures too!

Re: Trouble with Perrysresin.com
I've been on the model car list for at least 4 years now, and this is always the same experience I've heard from other customers over the years. Late, no email responses, claims he had "email problems" or whatever. Then someone pipes up and says "I met him at a show and he's a great guy, give him some time!" So let's see, he's late, can't get his stuff out in less than a year, has constant "email problems" yet here he is at model shows fully stocked and ready to take your money on the spot and you get your parts right away. Does this make any sense?
What irks me is that the bad experiences may reflect on resin casters in general. If someone's first experience was Perry's and was (most likely) disappointed, the next time they or a friend sees another resin site, they see "resin" and think "Oh man, I heard this takes almost a year, screw it."

I think part of the problem with Perry's is that he's a very high profile caster. Almost on the level of recognizability of Modelhaus, Mini Exotics, or Replica's and Miniatures Co. of Maryland.
Thing is, Modelhaus, Mini Exotics, and RMCoM are run as businesses, with employees, a payroll, and other such bits and pieces. Perry's is still cottage industry level. Which is a problem when you're trying to supply the same level of demand as the bigger companies. It's not that I excuse being that far behind, but I do understand the situation.

Let me tell you about Perry's! I waited 2 years for a panoz model that I pre-paid for. Was always having troubles and it was a few weeks away. nothing.
Sent emails and nothing. Finally I got some hope and got a cheque refund for him. Pretty bad service and I would stay away. Who cares if he is a (so-called) excellent caster? |

Add me to the list of former Perry's customers, too. I ordered two pairs of tires from him and it took over nine months (and many emails) to finally get them. Like the earlier poster mentioned, stuff like that gives the rest of the industry a black eye. I think one of the things that irritates me the most is when someone mentions it on a prominent message board and the "regulars" circle the wagons, like there's something wrong with the poster who reported the crappy service, instead of the supplier who provided dismal service.
If a resin caster (or any other businessperson, for that matter) takes a customer's money, knowing full well that he cannot deliver the product within a reasonable amount of time, and he doesn't inform the customer of this before taking his money, he SHOULD NOT be in business. Period. It's a fact that Randy makes some really nice stuff, but I sure won't order it from him. There are several other places to buy Perry's resin, vendors who will be honest with you when they take your money. I had one tell me recently that he could be a rich man if he could get Frost to deliver when he said he would. |

Thanks for the heads up guys, another lesson that I WONT have to leanr the hard way. I have thought about ordering from perrysresin several times, but because I am in canada, I decided I would buy quite a few products at once, but have never found everything I wanted.
You all are saying you can buy the products through other vendors/companies etc.. are there online shops that I can find these products? |

Hey guys, haven't been posting much but I'd like to announce that I've recieved my parts and I'm quite satisfied with them! I'm reluctant to order again, but will if I really need any more parts.

Re: Trouble with Perrysresin.com
I ordered two cars from Randy last August. After five months and many emails I have still not received what I ordered. I will be suprised if I ever see my cars. I am out $70 and I would encourage everyone not to order from Perry's Resin; chances are you will never see your mercdhandise.

Re: Trouble with Perrysresin.com
Well I know nothing of him: but recently I got from a great AF member his 333. The job they done on the model's engineering, tooling and casting is awesome, and think this model's 10 YO. Not to mean the shape, well captured.
