Trouble with Perrysresin.com

I'm having trouble with Perrys Resin. I send in my payment on 11/12/03, and sometime during December I emailed him if he recieved it. The answer was "yes." Unfortunatly, I emailed him (Randy) several times asking about the status of my order, with no response. I'm getting fustrated, as to this day he still hasn't responded! Has anyone in the US have trouble ordering from him before? What should I do?

I'll email him again tonight, and let you know if he respondes.

Thanks.

Re: Trouble with Perrysresin.com

This is quite common w/Randy. His products are great, but sometimes his service is slow and he's a bad communicator. You could try posting on the Hobby Heaven board, he reads that board and almost always responds to someone when they make a public post about his tardiness and lack of communication.

ZoomZoom, thanks for responding. I'll see if I can bring up a post.

It looks as though your thread on HH was deleted. What did you say?

Apparently nobody over there thinks Randy should communicate to his customer's inquiries if he does good casting, and Hobby Heaven deleted the post because this site has links to his competitors. Oh well, I tried. The post itself was not posted by Malcolm, though he did join the fray later on.

When I first made my order I didn't expect it to take this long, so I was worried that something bad happened. But it seems this is how it usually works. I guess I can't do much but wait and see. I hope he'll follow through.

I am the one that posted the message on HH. Even though I am VERY regular on HH I dont think it was right that it was deleted just because he is a "nice guy" Personally business is business doesnt matter how nice you are if you dont get he job done and make your customers come back for more than you are a failure. This may sound harsh but......*tries to think of an excuse*...............ok i am blunt and this is how I conduct myself.

heh my only view on it is this .. if something says 6 to 8 weeks for delivery .. i want it on my doorstep no later then 8 weeks ... if he is making the parts to order .. (making them when they are ordered) .. and that is what is causing the delay then he should list it on the site ...

i have looked at his site in the past and considered ordering some stuff ... but everyone i have spoke with said a 2 to 3 month time between order placed and received is normal ... in that time i could make the part myself ...

(is always looking for excuses to buy more tools and supplies)

I won some stuff from Perrys when i was on model car list. I won like 20 buck gift certificate of something like that.. It took him over a year to get me my stuff.. I ordered a set of wheels and a vette rollpan for fullsize chevy. He kept saying he didnt usually get orders by email. Thats why it took so long to get my stuff.. Whatever.. I have never ordered from or since. Even though theres alot of his stuff i want i wont order it from him. it sad it takes him so long that when ya finally get your stuff you dont really want it anymore. The wheels i tossed they were trash and the rollpan sits in my parts box. I personaly recommend all people to stay clear of him.. Later Rick S

Re: Trouble with Perrysresin.com

I've heard this tale many time from people dealing with Perry's Resin. Randy Frost may be a great caster but he is a very poor person to do business with. Can't really offer any assistance to your plight Malcom, but it is a lesson to be learned for the rest of us. If you wish to purchase a Perry's Resin product make sure you do it via a third party, who have it in stock.

On the other hand anybody who acts with such distain towards his paying clients will not be getting any of my business.
