My '94 did the same thing and it was the Coolant temp sensor. It's located right next to the thermostat housing. Buy one from the dealer not aftermarket, I tried 2 different aftermarket sensors before getting one from the dealer before fixing the problem.

Thank you I will try this. I wonder how the coolant temp sensor can cause it to do this kinda of stuff? Have you had any problems out of yours after replacing the temp sensor?

My truck was doing the same thing, Check the fuel filter, mine was real cloged, and fro what ever reason would run better after it warmed up, but very poorly when cold, after i replaced it ran significantly better.
