Another great gift Erik, although I had prior knowledge about this extremely generous gesture from McLaren, I,ll repeat to everbody a section of the email I sent you, as I am sure what I wrote, holds true from everbody here on the forum.
"Well done my friend, you deserve those items for all your time,effort and dedication towards the McLaren F1 on the internet. Maybe McLaren have turned the corner and become enthusiast friendly, you sure got a warm welcome from them all at Monterey, even owners were thrilled to meet you, perhaps they too enjoy reading your postings about the F1 which they are very fortunate to own. I think you should post this amazing gesture up on the forum, if the gentlemen from McLaren have no objection. I would doubt if anybody would be negative about this. A gift like this is priceless, thankyou for sharing". I still cannot get over that #036 hat, a very personal and priceless gesture from a very kind couple. Looking forward with great anticipation, to this mystery guest with great news tomorrow.

 If not for you guys I wouldn't have a place to share this stuff and it is easy to imagine that most of it would not have happened in the first place. Truly a big thanks to everyone.  I added one more new photo of the spanners to my earlier post - here's a link so you don't have to go back. Quote:

There is actually a website out there that sells a set of three of the FACOM spanners - 10mm, 11mm & 12mm. They are identical to the ones fitted to the F1, save for their lack of the additional Ti-Nitride coating. The price though...
 Facom/McLaren Titanium Wrench Set- 40ti-set Be sure to click on the three links to the left side of the page as it shows photos of each one on a highly accurate digital scale. "Featherlight" is not an overstatement of reality!  >8^) ER

Congratulations to Erik on his gift, I was amazed when I started reading this post; scrolling down the page to find these gold spanners I felt a touch of what Erik felt when he opened the box. Hearing the news and seeing the pictures made my day. Truly amazing, what a gift!!! Enjoy!!

Stumbled over an old post of mine, made last year August, right before Pebble Beach Concours.
Last part reads: I'd say: book your calendar for Pebble Beach NEXT year, I'm sure that there will be one or more present. For auction, on display, or just visiting. So frustrated that I didn't go, yet again.  Next year, next year....
