Help! In need of help of finding a Mclaren F1 car...

Hello!

Someone told me this is the best place to ask about Mclaren F1's, and just browsing through the threads, this is trully a special place.

I am looking for photos/information regarding a specific F1. It is a GTR with the "West" livery that was identical to the Formula 1 machine(black/silver with red accents)... As everyone here probably agree, it is quite difficult to find a photo because the words "Mclaren, F1, West" brings up ton of formula one stuff, and even if I find a GTR, it's always the red/white livery.

I don't know if it was a promotional deal, or if it was ever raced... any help would be appreciated! Cheers!

It was a promotional car associated with the "WEST Adrenaline Program" that they put on in countries across Eastern Europe to give the people there exposure to the different forms of racing they sponsor. They brought out the two seat McLaren Formula One car, the CLK DTM of that era and the lorry racer and would put on a show for the crowds on race tracks or sometimes closed public roads.

The car in question was GTR #08R (thanks Le Man ) and it no longer wears that livery and has since been painted Papaya Orange (to look like an F1 LM) and resides in Bahrain.

This car raced under Gulf livery in 1995, but never officially competed in anything wearing the WEST Adrenaline livery.
