Re: ARTA NSX 2005 - Tamiya - 1/24

I started painting body with main color. TS36 is a royal pita to lay down with even shade/opaqueness. I think that I used all of the luck I am entitled to for this build as some troubles has appeared.

First my masking was not perfect so I have some red on white on the bonnet. Second it seems that I may get some orange peel (God knows why) but I think I will even surface with mist coat of pure thinner. Risky method but usually effective.

I think that I will have to go with one more red coat then check all of the parts are in the same shade then make corrctions and finally start decaling.

EDIT

Trick with the thinner gone very well - orange peel is dissolved and looks OK. I have also corrected front spoiler - new one is puttied and decaled (one big decal from the side you see on the piucture, second on top of the spoiler).

Small air bubbles are already corrected as I noticed them after the picture has been taken.

Re: ARTA NSX 2005 - Tamiya - 1/24

I like this color very much. Proper show off

Ok, some progress:

Masking for black and white paint and touch ups

Low presure painting to minimize overspray

Looks pretty good and I am not going to correct anyting else. Tired...

Next steps are: darken panel lines and lay down decals

Truth might be it!

Lines are ready. I will check them out when they dry and after decals to make sure that everything is right.

Re: ARTA NSX 2005 - Tamiya - 1/24

Most of the decals are on I left the most difficult on the end. Decals printed by Cartograf are superb! Putting them on is a pure pleasure.
Anyway, maybe I am slow with decaling but it took me about 4-5 hours to get to this point...

Ok, I will tease you again with dry fitted body and chassis.
