Coil overs/struts/springs... which is best?

So i'm starting with a basically stock 98 Integra LS, I've got lots of plans for it but so doesn't everyone who's ambitious. The upgrade that i know the least about is suspension. I also plan to buy new rims and tires this summer... probably 17's and I would like to lower it as well. Which is the best? I know that as long as I don't buy something extremely cheap it should be better than stock, but where do i start? I've been told to go with Ground Control coil overs because you can keep the stock dampers, but do I want to keep my stock dampers? Would i be better off keeping the stock springs and getting new dampers that lower it? I'm not planning on racing on the track, at least not for any serious amount of time, but would just like to have a car that sticks to the road and is a dream to drive on those great winding roads with next to no roll. Any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

your springs lower your ride. not your dampers. and you could keep your stock dampers with any springs but it is recommended to get different ones so you won't bounce all over the place. but if you are going for like a 2 inch drop you should definitely get them

but in terms of quality of handling which will perform the best? is there a difference in performance between upgrading springs or switching to coil overs?

Absolutely YES! You will notice quite a bit of difference in switching to full coilover syspension. Difference in a very good way though. Allows you to lower, yet maintain a near stock feel and quality to the ride. But all dependant on which coilover system you chose to go with.

None of the above. I say go Tein all the way! That's what I'm dropped on at least, Tein SS.

i have coilovers, and my civic rides rough, and stiff. i will eventually get some eibach springs. IMO go with springs over coilovers.

Only if you have coilover SLEEVES. If you have TRUE full coilovers such as Tein, JIC, or A'PEXi I guarantee you're ride won't be as bouncy as it is right now.

I just put on some tokico R Illumina coilovers and I am very impressed they were deffinatly the best bang for the buck, I would buy them all over again if I had to. I would recommend a true coilover set-up for sure.
