wow... what a help that was...

you could get an intake/exhaust/header...

cam, cam gear (unless it's dohc, then you'll need 2 of each)... reprogram your ecu...

there's alot you can do...

and that's just the basic stuff...

Yeah if you want to go really deep, i HEARD (do not know for sure) that a lighter crankshaft boosts a neon's hp a lot. Otherwise intake is good, plugs and wires help also, little things can really add up.

a lighter crankshaft won't boost hp, really... but it will probably make your engine spin a little easier, and spin up quicker. this should help you accelerate quicker, but it's not really anything that will make your car 'gain' horses...

About lighting the crank shaft you probably missunderstood for the billet aluminum MpX UDP(under drive pulley) along with others. Far as making your car faster: WEIGHT REDUCTION its free, Larger TB or a Jeep converted, I love headers cant say enough, mopar PCM really helped me out, and last some light weight 13's should drop u a good second.

maybe you meant knife edging or balancing a crank...

both of these will drop weight, making it easier to spin, and reducing rotational weight, which can free up hp...

however, if you're doing that, there's more you're doing at the same time, so it's lumped into a package...

You could also get an aftermarket under drive pulley. They are smaller and lighter than the stock pulley. Even with my automatic I noticed a nice difference in power. Nothing to brag about for me, but my car was definitely less of a dog with the AC on in the summer time. UDPs go from $110 and up, depending on brand

There's a ton of stuff you can do...check out these sites:

Coincidentally...
I am changin' out my head right now and I hadda pull of the UDP. That thing is heavy as God knows what! Several pounds for a lil pulley. Hows that work? lol! Well for just a chunk of metal I dont see how $110+ is even worth it. I dun' know. I dont really have the money to be dumping all these items on there. I would love to swap it out now that its all apart. Took me forever to get there. Changin' the head out on my own, not too bad for my first head on my own.
