I was wondering, which mustang is faster? SVT or Saleen, and if you know, can you tell me the specs? I heard that Saleens are faster, but a SVT will beat it, not smoke it, but beat it.

Depends on which model you get and year. A GT could beat a non supercharged model Saleen. Look at the new 03 Cobra's, over 400 hp to the wheels. Alot of 96-99 Cobras running 11's at the track aswell.

the new cobra makes 390 at the crank... wink wink...
muscle mustangs and fast fords dynoed one for 375 to the wheels. the lightning s/c pulley took that to 415 hp. with a completely stock motor... not too shabby

An Saleen S281SC can pretty much hang with a 03 Cobra. A Saleen S351 will beat it but they don't make them anymore

MM & Fast Fords has gotten that fricken thing to something like 492 Rwhp & 486Rwtq. thats just fricken rediculous. Hell---they slapped on a prototype Kenne Belle and made almost 600Rwhp

sounding and actually being able to-----are two distinctly different things. The S281 E isn't even tunable to any more horsepower without swapping the blower Saleen proves. The car is fast----but the blower is more limited than the 03 cobra.

good point---the stock Saleen is a 2V---but you could slap on a centrifugal on the 03 engine-----and make pretty sick power without having to upgrade the internals----where as the S281E----is an internals upgrade job. Hence even more money to get it in a state ready for wicked boost. The 03 is boost ready---within reason of course-----without having to upgrade until maybe 700hp.
The S281 E though, is pretty quick---especially with less weight than the 03. Ford got really cheap witht he cast iron block----I mean----if they wanted to---they could have used a forged aluminum block-----with forged internals-----and save the 200lbs. But thats Ford for ya----always looking to turn a quick profit----and force stang owners to go to the aftermarket to build their ideal dream car.

And thats just the kind of bullshit---that Ford tries sticking up its loyal customer's asses. They can build a 5.4---with very similar parts to the Dohc 4.6---IN ALUMINUM----but then they turnaround and act like it can't be done on a Cobra. Its so fricken insulting to all the loyal svt owners like myself! Bunch of cheapasses at Ford. If they spent a little extra on improving stock quality and stock performance---they'd be able to get that sticker closer to $50K like the M3.
