Re: 08 trailblazer brakes sticking

dealership is useless ! I would ask them if they are able to fix this...unfortuately they will replace all the braking parts at your expense except the master cylinder which has been reported by owners to be the component that is defective. the abs/LT will not come on with this , but as you experienced the brakes will not release on ALL wheels ! |

Re: 08 trailblazer brakes sticking
Had the same problem tonight. slowed down then let off of brakes and 2007 TB did not want to move. pulled over to side of road and tryed to go and it would not move. it was raining and the road was wet. gave it a lot of gas and the rear wheels started to spin. so i know it was the front brakes that were locked up. i turned the trailblazer off then restarted it and it pulled out fine and drove it the rest of the way home 60 miles and never did it again. has over 100k mile on it and it was the first time it ever did it.

Re: 08 trailblazer brakes sticking
So what was the issue? What was the fix? My 07 SS Trailblazer just did this this morning 7/8/2016 as I watched my girlfriend leaving for work. She got in to leave and I was standing right outside the truck. Then she looked at me as she was trying to drive away and said the vehicles not moving good. As I stood there I heard all of the brakes contacting the rotors because when it stopped rolling the brakes were grabbing. So I jumped in the truck and said let me check it out it sounds like the brakes are sticking. And sure enough every time I push the break it engaged more and more like I was pumping the brakes to stop it and it just locked up. This was from a cold start first thing in the morning no bumps no nothing just starting the vehicle to leave to go to work. It acted like the more I pumped the brake the more it would hold till it basically was power braking even though all the wheels showed resistance. The vehicle sits so I have to turn the steering back-and-forth to maneuver it out of the backyard so when I was turning it I was wondering if I have contaminated power steering fluid causing the brake booster to engage or not release I know that in my 96 Chevy C 3500 this was the very issue that caused my brakes to lock up on that particular vehicle I changed out the master cylinder and the brake booster but I did not flush the power steering fluid out when I did the job as soon as I put it back together on that particular vehicle I went for a ride in the brakes locked up again it was caused from contaminated power steering fluid. I had a power steering line that was leaking and I kept adding power steering fluid to it and it must've become contaminated from the air or dirt causing small bubbles In the power steering fluid. It would expand when the truck got to hot from the motor heat and cause my brakes to lock up. So I pulled the master cylinder off of the vehicle and replaced the brake booster as well and noticed that the rod on the master cylinder was sticking out further than it should've so I shimmed it with 3 washers to compensate for the rod. What I did was look at the contact between the new master cylinder while I was bolting it back together and noticed the Rod was pushing into the master cylinder applying the brakes when I put the bolts back on. That's why I shimmed it with three washers. So after that process every once in a while my brakes would still heat up and I would get to the house in a be smoking. Then I read on another forum how contaminated power steering fluid would cause that issue through the brake booster on my 96 Chevy 3500. So I took off the low pressure line and used a gallon of new power steering fluid and flushed the system. Come to find out I really didn't need to relplace those two parts because the problem was CONTAMINATED POWER STEERING FLUID. Did fix the problem in that particular vehicle but I still have the shim it because of the different rod length on the new master cylinder that I got from the auto parts store. OK now back to this 07 trailblazer this issue was totally different different symptoms then my 96 Chevy.!!! NOTE: this was not the cause and effect I got from my Chevy 3500 ok? It was not heat that caused this 07 trail blazer to lock the brakes up. It was cold. This seemed like a release valve or something to do with the Anti lock not releasing??? WHAT CAUSES THIS TRUCK TO RELEASE THE PRESSURE OF THE BRAKES? Why does it stick randomly ? The master cylinder is nothing but a shaft with a couple of seals. Is one going bad and a peice of contaminate floating through the system? I'm not to sure about that!!! Because when I was sitting there locked up in the drive way WITH THE TRUCK STILL IN GEAR I SHUT IT OFF THE PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED IT AND IT WAS BACK TO NORMAL! What HAPPEND? What made the pressure release and the brakes release? Vacuume ? Electrical?? These brakes work perfect until this happens and note this is the first time. What part caused this to happen? That's the reply I need

Re: 08 trailblazer brakes sticking
What an amazing wall of text.
They have this invention. It's called a "paragraph", and you could use it to break-up this wall of text into readable pieces. Kids are learning about "paragraphs" by about the fourth grade, although I don't suppose English teachers really care about it until seventh or eighth grade. My money is on the ABS valves being sticky, or commanded improperly by a failed computer.

Yes that's exactly what I was thinking as well. The valve seemed to get stuck then released! It was only after I shut it down and restarted it that it released. From what I see it must have cut the power to the abs and cause it to reset or release the pressure to the master cylinder. It clicked when it released and went back to normal! Note: When the master cylinder on my Chevy 3500 went out. The brakes went to the floor. This is not what happens to the 07 trail blazer it was a lock up issue. Thanks for the reply 😎👍 |
