91 Olds 98 wont stay running
I have a 91 olds 98 regency elite. After reaching operating temp the engine starts stalling. It will restart and go and shut off again. The warmer it is outside the quicker it does it. It also starts flashing hot yet not overheating. I have replaced the ignition module, the coil pack, the crank sensor, the cam sensor, the fuel pump and the thermostat. I am at a loss and desperately confused.

Welcome to AF, does it start right up, does it stall driving or at idle.

When your's stalls, does it restart right away, or do you have to a wait a few minutes?

Re: 91 Olds 98 wont stay running
I have a 95 olds 98 regency with a 3.8l doing the same thing. I get code p0342 Camshaft sensor intermittent failure. It is like you just turned the car off. It won't start until you turn the key off then it will fire right up.

Re: 91 Olds 98 wont stay running
8 month old thread you may not get any responses. The cam sensor will not cause stalling, it my be hard to start at times, you have something else going on, post a better description of when and how this ocurs, 91 and 95 are different systems.
