How much money do you plan to spend? What can you afford to pay? Are you going to have a loan or are you paying cash? Do you want a new or used car?

OK so $2k. With that choice I would be looking at a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic, manual transmission.

So the Geo's 1.6L failed, or were there other problems with the car?

With only $2000 to pay your choices are limited. You could always save for awhile, or use the 2k as a down payment, and get a $5000 car.

With your strained budget, you're better off getting something safe and as reliable as possible and save the racing for when you can afford it... I'm also saying go for a Corolla, Sentra or Civic and leave the "Fast and Furious" junk behind... the less mods, the better the car is likely to be. Good luck!

well really i want a car. i dont want a civic unless it is a hatchback and i do not want a corolla or a sentra because i just dont like them.i can get the car i want. i can always add mods to it later on it life as long as i have the car. so the whole fast and furious thing if i want one of those car i can try and get it and i can add the mods to it as long as i have the car. so no matter what u say i just want a car i would like to have to race and drive but as long as i have the car i can add mods to it as long as i have the car so please give me something else i can look up and see if i can get because it dose not matter if i add mods to it or not because thats up to me

There are many excellent choices available in the budget you have decided. One way can be to going with a used car, in which way you can get a superb branded car at pretty cost effective prices. But as you have said you need a new car only, you may compromise somewhere as its not possible getting the luxury in such case. But still, lots of excellent choices are available for you. First of all, make your mind about any particular model and then start making your search.

I reallllllllly think you need to consider availability and reliability first... Just because you "hate" cars that are in your budget doesn't mean they're bad cars. Truth is, at your price, you're not going to get something race ready and you'll be lucky to get something that doesn't need another $2k in parts to make it worth your while. It's your $2k budget and you can buy what you want with it. Good luck...
