anyone that has changed from a old pioneer HU to a new one
I have a older pioneer cd player like the DEH-3400 and I want to put the new MP3 player in my car. but I dont feel like rewiring a new cd player. does anyone know if the harness for the old cd player will work for the new one.

i would assume the wires are the same no matter what pioneer you change to, unless you have to change from using pre-outs to not using pre-outs. the easiest way to find out is to go to some place that does installation and ask one of the techs there. when i upgraded mine it was a pretty easy task, but i didnt have the same model numbers as you do.

NO! you probably cant do this. In the past year Pioneer has changed their harnesses so yours may not work. Also if youre going from a 3400 to a higher end deck like the MP3 player the plugs are different.

Sorry, doesn't work. I went from a 6400 to an 8400MP and the plugin head was different. I think it actually had some new wires and a clip in fuse.
