which tranny do i have?

I have a 99 Taurus se with the vulcan engine, but from what i've gathered, there could be two possible trannies used for that year. I checked the vin decoder and it doesn't say. For the most part they used the Ax4n, put randomly placed axod in certain taurus's with the vulcan motor. where on my car will it say which tranny is in it? can i identify the tranny witha code on it?
