Stalling question

Been having an issue with my 05 Grand Prix base 3.8. When I first start or turn it over rather occasionally it will not start. It will turn over fine, but will not start until I try again. Rarely it takes a third time, other times it fires right up! Ounce it starts it runs perfect! doesn't have a delay in throttle.

My first thought was fuel filter, however I learned it is in the tank I suspect the fuel pump however would like a second opinion in this matter. I have some experience, however never dropped a tank without a lift so would probably hire out.

Any help/input with be greatly appreciated!

Re: Stalling question

There is a TSB floating around listing your same issue. The fix it says is to remove and clean the throttle body with throttle body cleaner and install with a new gasket.

Re: Stalling question

After cleaning, I think, since this is a TAC system, you have to also reset it by disconnecting both battery cables(neg first), and then hold the cables together for about 30 seconds....then reinstall the pos cable first....key is out of the ignition when you do this....

Re: Stalling question

another thing to do while you have access is to clean the MAF. use MAF cleaner and spray both sides of the wires liberally and let air dry
