Engine stalling question/help
Before I take my '00 Maxima to the shop I wondered if anyone here has an idea as to what's happening, here goes:
Whenever car is running and placed in park and all load is removed from the engine (a/c off etc) you see the rpms start dropping until the engine dies. Car can start right back up no problem. It also did it while at a red light with no strain on the engine (nice day, windows open) idling while in D. The rpms just dropped until the engine died. Put the car in N, started, rpms went up to about 1200 and worked there way back down until it died. Anyone here have any idea? I have an 8:00 appt Saturday with my mechanic. Thanks. Robert

Dirty IACV (idle adj stepper motor), hose leak can do that. Possibly linked to misfire (bad plug/coilpack). Self diag might give a code?

broken wire in the EGI harness . Wires have been known to break in the pass side where the harness bends.. Start the Car and wiggle harness and see if engine clears up or stalls.. GL
