94 Regal Stall Question
I have a 94 Regal with the 3.8 and sometimes when I slow down for a stop it dies. I can drop it in neutral and start it right up. Sometimes it does it everytime I go to stop. Other times it won't do it for a couple weeks. If I watch my tach as I am slowing I can shift into neutral when I see the tach drop and it won't die. It does not show any trouble codes.
I have replaced all the typical tune up things, wires, plugs, filtes ect. I have also replaced the tubes going to and from the EGR valve. Nothing has helped. Thanks |

My suspicion here is the torque convertor clutch staying connected, resulting in the same symptoms as leaving a manual transmission in gear and not declutching at a stop. Front drive vehicles, or rear engine, rear drive vehicles have encountered these issues frequently. You might try disconnecting the clutch connector, if not integrated with the shifting, and see if the problem disappears. Ray
