I had 98 grand prix with the same engine and had to buy an upper plenum at 99k miles.
The issue is the upper intake manifold is plastic and they have hot egr gas running through one side of it through a pipe. It warps the plastic and let's coolant into the engine. glad you got it fixed. |

Not that I am aware of. GM never owned up to the fact there may have been an issue with them.

its my understanding that engines 2000 and newer were fitted with the different intake to prevent that....i bought a 2000 v6 3.8 so we will see....
