Re: 97 transport problems

I'm not sure of the logic with the 3.4 setup as 3x and 24x are sent by separate sensors contrary to my 3.8. anyway I would verify presence of electric pulses to the injectors.
the 3x signal from front crank sensor is sent to the ignition module (ignitor) and used in the ignition module itself to fire the coils (so you do have spark) but then forwarded to the computer through a buffer circuit part of the ignition module. IN my case the buffer was shot and the 3x signal was not fed to the computer and no firing of injectors occured. A new ignition module solved the problem.

Re: 97 transport problems

how would you go about checking the injectors with out taking off the intake manifold plenuem? btw here is a little more info: the people they bought the van from said that when they was driving it home one day it just died and they coasted it of to the shoulder and it stared right up drove for 30 mins and then it did it again, they got it to start back up again and it drove home the rest of the way

YOu disconnect the wiring to an injector and connect an oscilloscope, or voltmeter or a small 12v light bulb instread. Pulses will show as a short burst of voltage or light. I think the 3.4 injectors are well hidden and in this case if impossible to reach easily, the connectin to the wiring can be taken upstream on the wiing. A voltmeter test does not need that the injector be disconnected if you can connect in some way to the wiring.
ANy check engine codes ?

Re: 97 transport problems

no engine codes that i can get. i have been told maybe the comp went out but not sure.

the previous owner said " We where driving down the road and it just died, so we pulled over, put it in park and it started right back up. We drove for about 30mins or so and it did it again so we pulled over and it started right back up but we made it home and it dies again"

i did not see any where up the wire loom any where to check the fuel injector pulse but do know that the upper intake manifold covers all the injectors to where you cant check them at all. i know i got 45 psi fuel and have good spark all the way across the board just dont know where else to go from here is all
