intermittent starting issues

I have a 03 s-10 4.3 4x4. Some days it will not start. It powers evertything up normal, fuel pump runs, but when you turn the key to fully start it does nothing. No attemp to start at all! I usually have to wait 10-20 mins and it will eventually start. I replaced the ignition switch last weekend, and this did not fix it. What do I look at next?

Re: intermittent starting issues

maybe a passlock issue. did you mark sure all the harnesses are plugged in?

check for 12 volts at the starter.

Re: intermittent starting issues

I am no expert, but I would check you connections on your starter. Also check the grounding wire on both ends.

Re: intermittent starting issues

Maybe it's your starter. Does it even turn? If it cranks, then it's something else.

During the no start condition, are you getting battery to the Lights, and horn?

This sounds like it's the starter. From what you are saying, it doesn't even turn but everything powers up normal. Try tapping the starter with something like a hammer. Don't beat it though. Then try starting it.
