My Integra grinds going into 3rd gear, suggestions?

I just got a 1991 Acura Integra GS with 5-speed manual about a month ago, and like the 2nd day I had it I started hearing grinding noises going into 3rd gear. It ALWAYS grinds going from 2nd to 3rd, unless the car hasn't been turned on for like 8 hours or more, and it some of the time grinds going from neutral to 3rd. Is my transmission going to just like blow up one of these days or should I even worry about it?

3rd is overrated

3rd gear is over rated.. only slows you down.

just skip it, 2nd to 4th... remember the fastest way to accelerate is to travel though the gears faster... so why not skip a useless gear?

I say, Dont worry about it!

No chance Redneck, he's got an acura, he doesn't have enough torque to skip gears...

My lugnut requires more torque than your LS1 makes.

yea, make sure your not the problem. I used to push and release the clutch too fast and grind a lot, so I bought a short shifter and it's been fine ever since. lol, I figured the quicker I shifted, the less likely I'd be to lay off the clutch too early. It worked tho.

One question I had: I think it's just Hondas, but getting into reverse is the biggest bitch. I'll get in the car in the morning, put it into reverse and start going and it'll grind. Sometimes it wont go in reverse. I have to put it in 1st then reverse. Sometimes I'll put it in reverse but I know it's not all the way in so when I push the gas I have to hold it for just a second until I start moving and then it pops. but If I don't, It'll just grind away. On occasion it'll grind when I hold it and make it worse.
I thought maybe the reason it wouldn't go into reverse is the safety thing. If you're in like 3rd you cant put it into reverse. You have to go to 1st gear first.
I talked to a friend about it and he said his Integra does it too and that it was just a honda thing.

The warranty runs out soon, should I take it in?
