I'm a full supporter of DIY intakes, however, don't use PVC, doesn't that produce poisonous fumes if it gets too hot or burned..?

An ebay ram air rocks! I love it for the sound over anything else. If only for being able to get rid of the silencer and letting that sweet growl come through, buy it! (off ebay) ($20)

Re: horsepower gains or not really??

why don't you just get the orignal AEM intake, compared to one hundred bucks more for a couple of horsepower.

also DIY intakes aren't smog legal in california, and AEM is smog legal, and also are dyno horsepower proven.

Re: horsepower gains or not really??

MOre air = More power enough said , but there are many things out there that can do that for ur car without costing an arm and a leg. Do some research, jus because somethin is advertised to do this or that doesnt exactly mean it would. Ur best bets are ebay. It's never done me any harm.

Re: horsepower gains or not really??

It doesn't help much with just air intake/ram if you have stock header, fuel regulator, exhaust, and cat. Sure they put alot of air into the engine, but there is no point of having high air input when your output is low, your car may lag and maybe lost of power at certain RPM. You pretty much have to balance input and output to get a smooth and fast ride.
