1997 Sport door chime

I recently purchased a used 2 door Sport 1997 Explorer from a new car dealer. Several problems were corrected and one was the clock spring. After that was repaired the door chime goes off when I open the driver's side door and remains ringing until I shut the door even without the key in the switch. The dealer said it's suppose to be that way. I seriously doubt that myself. Can anyone advise.
Thanks
Fred & Gerry

Re: 1997 Sport door chime

Did you ever figure out your problem on your door chime for the Explorer? I'm having the same problem and I'm going crazy trying to figure it out. Thanks...
