Battery and Alarm Problems

Hey List,

I just disconnected the negative lead to the Battery on my 95 Jetta- to replace the cap and rotor. Now- when I reconect the battery, the alarm starts to go off? I've tried to turn the ignition and have no luck. I've tried the door lock- and that doesn't turn it off- I can't get it off to save my life!!!

Is there any reason behind this? What can I do to get the darn thing off?

Thanks, I'll give it a try- seems kinda quirky just for a battery disconnect. I've never had this problem with my other cars. Thanks.
