95 GT BATTERY DRAIN/AlARM PROBLEM

I have a 95 gt 5.0 with 148,000km and recently the stock security system hasn't been working properly. I have to press the unlock button on my remote around 10 times for it to disarm and allow the car to start. And now the battery drains in about 2 days, it goes completely dead. Can i disconnect the alarm and still allow the car to start or anything i can do?????

Re: 95 GT BATTERY DRAIN/AlARM PROBLEM

condition of the battery? & charging system? & cables/ belt?

parasitic load test? (google that)

PS: i answered a similar ? to another member; he apparently didn't check the basics & found 2 causes to his problem

checking alternator output via free on-vehicle testing at your local parts store (autozone/ advance auto parts) would rule that part out

checking the grounds/ belt tension/ and parasitic load testing is up to you...
