working out and pills

not sure if this is the right forum or not, oh well, i'm sure people work out who post here...

I work out a couple times a week with free weights and machines, and last week i tore a muscle in my neck and went to the doctor to find out what i need to get better. Well he gave me some pills called percoset(sp?) and skelaxin a muscle relaxer. i was wondering if i work out then take the pills will my muscles not grow as there supposed to or what, anyone have a clue?

No, it is a muscle relaxant only. You need something to work on your bodies anabolic system to gain muscle.

If you tore a muscle, shouldn't you take it easy for a week or so?

Definitely take at least a little time off. In the meantime, asterox is right, enjoy the percs.

Re: working out and pills

You can work around the injured muscle. Just do exercises that don't involve that muscle. I've done that many times.
