It's the Japanese Super Coupe Comparo!!!!

OK So here is my latest idea for a Comparo................

Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo vs. Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo vs. Toyota Supra Twin Turbo v. Honda NSX 3.0l (Pre-1996)(Thats right we're keeping it cheap here) vs. Subaru SVX vs. Mazda FD RX7.

Which one do you vouch for the most???? Take into consideration- styling, engines, handling/road-holding, reliability, tunability, driver envolvement (If you've driven them) and performance in it's various forms.

My Pick??? I'm going to vouch for the Supra in this lot- Second best engine, great looking, VERY tunable, awesome chassis and handling set-up

The following things are not allowed: Asking why I didn't put rally specials in there (Because it's kill the purpose) saying you'd rather have xxxx car (Because you are off-topic) Other wise anything goes :sun:

Hmm… I’d probably rather have one of those Jap rally-specials! hehe.. only kidding, besides its my forum whatcha gonna do about it

Seriously, id go for the NSX, I’d rather have that mid-engined beauty over any of the other cars here, though the RX7 comes a very close second, and the Supra third. always had a soft spot for the 300ZX too... the GTO does nothing for me.

*Polishes the I can't ban you but I'll beat you anyway stick*

Heres another thing I forgot to mention- Anybody who asks where the Skyline GTR got to gets pummeled endlessly with the ban stick :finger:

I agree with the NSX- great choice!!!!! Easily my number two- the RX7 is 4th, the 300ZX 3rd, SVX 5th and GTO 6th

The SVX looked so damn cool when I first saw it and it still does today- it's also a perfect cross between luxury and sports car (On this side of US$10,000 at least)

Gotta love that (Apart from the cheap looking grille :apuke: )

Damn you Jim, good comparo!

I had a lot of trouble picking between the GTO, Fairlady, and Supra. Ultimately I had to pick the GTO, I just love the looks of that car. I wonder how it would market in the U.S. since the GTO was a Pontiac muscle car?

Thats why they called it the 3000GT It'd be stepping on the toes of the Americans if you ask me- although there has been Mitsubishi GTO's in Japan since the 70's

wondering where the skyline is myself. which may and will swing the votes. but out of those listed, i'll have to go with the nsx. yeah it looks old and it's over priced but it's a badass car altogether.

Well I'm a real sucker for engines without poppet valves, so I think you know which one gets my vote...

I'm editting this to write that the Skyline is not worthy of this list, besides you could get them as four door sedans, so no they're not really super coupes in my eyes - Jim's doing the right thing keeping the box-mobile off of the list

You know, i'm stuck between the 300zx and the supra.

SUPRA.....
PROS...... CAN HAVE HUGE POWER GAINS........GOOD HANDLING......SEMI RARE.....MORE SPACE
CONS..... HEVY....OLD.....LARGE......SPENDY

300ZX.....
PROS....LIGHTER...NIMBLER.... CAN HAVE LARGE POWER GAINS......4 WHELL STEARING.........T-TOP
CONS.....OLD.......PARTS ARE SPENDY........SMALL AMOUNT OF ROOM

I got to ask, Why is the SVX on here? It only came with an AT in the US, how about the rest of the world(was it even sold anywhere else)? Still, it doesn't deserve to be in the same comparo.
Track car, the NSX or 13B.
1/4 car, the 2JZ of course.
Looks, the 6G72 of course.
It rains half the year where I live, so I'd have to go with the VR4.
I've driven a NA Supra and 3Z. The Supra was a dog, had 90k on the ticker, meticulously maintaned, but it was slow; a friends 97 GSR was quicker. The Supra feels like a big car, cockpit was OK, the center tach was nice. The 300zx was not bad at all, cockpit was nice and tight, handling was great, felt quicker than the Supra. Supra looks better, but the Z felt better. Wish the were Turbos

i'd personally take the nsx (the model i'd choose is the type s zero)

it's one of the quickest, lightest, best handling.

the rx7 would be my #2.

the supra isn't that great of a handler stock, so that's why i'd choose the nsx...

and the nsx is just known for how great it handles. i'd take one any day of the week... especially for how rare they are compared to supras etc...

300ZX for being the most balanced

Supra coming in a close 2nd

PS: SVX would get killed in every category by all other cars

Of the choices here I'd pick the Supra on the basis of looks and performance.

The lack of the Skyline cheapens the comparison though.
