'94 Explorer 4.0ltr code 124?

When driving check engine light comes on. My code reader says
code 124- something about "over voltage to throttle sensor" or something
like that. Does this mean that my throttle position sensor is faulty?
Or does this mean something else? I cleaar the code; it runs OK then.
Is something else wrong? Can I damage the rig by driving it this way?
Thanks for any input.
