Red face V.I.P/Dorifto JZX100

here is yet another WIP from me, im really racking up the models at the moment, i picked this model up to celebrate my getting employed at toyota/lexus,i thought "what better way to celebrate then to build a drift GS400?" so i went down to the local hobby shop, and all the GS400's were gone! i was very upset, until i spyed a vertwx JZX100 sitting in the corner, i grabbed it straight away,i like them better then a GS400 anyway.tell me what you think, lately ive been painting all my models weird colours, this one is (and yes, i no PS paints are for polycarbonate) Tamiya PS-18
metallic purple, covered in PS-40 Translucent Pink, its really strange, its deep purple in the shade, but in light(you cant really see it her,it turns hot pink.then of course TS-13 over the top.this is yet to receive its final coat of clear and is yet to be polished, im going for a JDM drift/VIP look.im unsure about the interior, i was thinking predominatly beige interior, but would this kill off the drift part of the car?and also, ive included 2 sets of wheels im concidering,to go with the drift look, im leaning towards the large Watanebes, but would this kill the VIP part of the car?
Comment and criticism always welcome

Re: V.I.P/Dorifto JZX100

Go with the R33 wheels. the paint looks good. drift/VIP, go with a black with dark red inserts for the interior. Or go with black and if you can duplicate the body color without the metallic for the inserts, that would look pretty good, but I'm no interior decorator, so colors are my enemy (I'm also color blind)

Re: V.I.P/Dorifto JZX100

hmm,i like the dark red idea, the 33 wheels are apparently some sort of WORK wheel, they came with the kit, there around 18' i think, they dont look it in the pics, they look more at home on the big car then the smaller diametre watanebes

Re: V.I.P/Dorifto JZX100

quick update,i finished the underbody, and here is the car sitting on the "chassis" so you can seee what the final ride heaight will be,im having negative camber issues at the rear, this is due to the body, rubbing on the top of the wheels.the model came with 2 sets of suspension, and the one you were instructed to use was labeled Toyota Mark II VIP cresta, so the spsension must be from one of their VIP releases, anyway, enoguh chat, tell me what u think apologies for crap pictures,my camera sucks

looking pretty good in there. the stance is just right, but i think the front wheels need adjusting.

great progress, the rear reminds me of a 740iL BMW, great choice with the Advan Model 5's

its incredible, all my mates(non AF users) have said that to me!i hate to admit it, but your right,it looks alot like a bmw at the rear, if it wasnt for the jap-style front grill the front would look like a bmw aswell.
andy eh, i finally decided on the model 5's, i want to save the watanabes for something else, like an AE86 or old celica

Re: V.I.P/Dorifto JZX100

ha haa! yeh :P maybe i should put a rollcage in it?with cupholders attached??lol.i think ken nomura could fill both roles, the important person and the drifter

unfortunatly, progress has been slow due to me having to wait for some time to by some paint for the interior.still unsure tohugh,so suggestions are still welcome guys! and should i put mesh in front of the intercooler?since a big intercooler sticking out the front isnt VIP. but then again, no intercooler isnt very drift like, i mean, who has a Non-Turbo JZX100!?

Re: V.I.P/Dorifto JZX100

there are some VIP drifters with ICs covered behind the bumpers. thats what i did to my gloria VIP drifter, a little subtle yet aggressive.

Re: V.I.P/Dorifto JZX100

great job until now!

I like the color, and offcourse theese wheels look better on this car (than the watanabes)

but where is the second exhaust??

-if you want to have only one insted of two, you have to cut it further front (I think)

this color is for lexan bodies???
