oil leak problem?

Heres the deal. My mechanic put all new oem honda gaskets in my b16a before I did my swap. After I did my swap, I noticed alittle oil leaking out from the corner of the head near/under the v-tec soielnoid. It only leaks when I drive the car and is not that much. What could be causing this? Is the head not torqued down right/enough? Thanks in advanced.

is it off the valve cover or the head/block surface itself? sounds like the valve cover to me. if it is leaking from the corners of the valve cover its very common. what you need to do is take the valve cover off and applly hondabond or permatex high temp gasket sealent (same thing) to where the half circle portions that run over top the cam shaft area meet the straight posrtions, the sharp corners basically.

is off the head/block surface. right where the head curves.

[captain obvious] ouch, thats not good [/captain obvious]

what i am wondering is if he got the head torque down sequence right. if not that could be your cause, or a misaligned gasket or simply one bolt that isnt torqued down correctly or at the worst maybe the previous owner of the motor overheated it and warped it.

your cheapest and easiest option is gonna be to check to see if the head bolts are torqued to spec. if not then mor eand likely you'll need to remove the head again, have it checked for any warping as well as the block surface and make sure the gasket and torque down sequence goes perfect. i cant think of any quik fixes for something like this except some sort of sealent on the exterior to try and plug the leak although i wouldnt stake much faith in it. besides who knows where else the oil is leaking besides out of the head.

Ok, i know the head is striaght because I had my machine shop check and make sure the surface was ok. So im guessing the head was not torqued in sequence correctly. I get back to you on this. thanks again
