CD Changer not working :(
My 2002 grand prix se never came with a cd changer so i went on ebay and i purchased a cd changer that works with all gm models with the pre-trunk harness (which i didnt have). I went to buy the harness (#12344015) and installed and plugged everything in. Now when i try to play the cd, it says E33 on the radio (its the cassette radio without the cd player). I checked the wiring and everything seems to be fine.
Anyone know what is wrong with it and how to fix it? |

first things first. Does your radio have changer controls? does it have a cd button on it. Even though they say the changer will work with "all" gm radio's doesn't mean it does. I would check the model # on your radio and your changer and go to a dealership to find out if they're compatable. Secondly, how do you know that the changer worked before you got it. You're just relying on somebody else's word.If possible, I would try you're changer in somebody elses gm vehicle that has either changer controls or a factory changer already installed, and see if it works. If you stilll get an error , chances are the changer's bad.

Re: CD Changer not working :(
I go with dopey here. E33 means a tape or CD loading problem. The issue here is if the radio knows how to talk to the changer. Installing a phone line between a German and Spanish does not mean they can talk at all. Check the radio model to see if it supports a Changer

Re: CD Changer not working :(
I hve checked if the radio is compatible with a cd changer and it is. I asked on clubgp and they said it is, and it also has the input for the wiring harness (#12344015). I talked to the ebay seller and he said he will offer a full refund, as i think it is the cd changer. And also, none of my friends have a GM vehicle with the stock radio in it
