The Never Ending Race Thread

i was thinking this might be fun, lets make a thread and see how big we can make it. This thread is to post small little races that you wouldnt think would deserve a thread of its own, but still worth mentioning for the fun of it. Try and post atleast 2-3 small races a week here to keep it alive. I got 2 to start off, both these races happened on the highway, same part too.

Ok so 2 nights ago im headed home from work, im going onto I-94 i see a new Pontiac G6 coupe, so i pass it kinda hard trying to get a race. he follows me onto the on ramp tailgating me the whole time. As soon as i hit the straight away and he is their too, i wave to him over my shoulder and punch it. Needless to say i left him in my smoke cloud.

Other race was with a Mustang GT, 2000+. Same road, im cruising down doing about 65ish, i pass a Mustang GT getting onto the freeway, i see as soon as he can he punches it and takes off screaming towards me. Well ive always wanted to play with a mustang at high speeds (late night, open 4 lane freeway) so i punch, he catches up to me when im doing about 80MPH, i kept it floored all the way to 105MPH my speed limit, the whole time we were neck and neck. Dead even, just like my other 2 mustang GT races.

Anyone else got some small races to talk about?

Friday night after my official races..I played around with a dude in a red automatic 350z. We messed around from a couple lights. But at one light we got serious. He looked over and nodded, I nodded back and revved it. He nodded. Light turns green..we both took off and ran neck and neck. It's like we came off the line even and continued on dead even until about 80mph where I shut it down. Afterwards I spoke with him at another light and he asked me what I had done and I told him I was stock..he was like 'damn those are faster than i thought'.

Saturday some talon thing followed me..it was turbo because he kept making his BOV pop at me. Light turned green..I left him behind about 3 cars back. But damn his car was screaming like hell. I thought it was right on my ass and then I look in my rearview mirror and he was way back.

I beat a stock 86 mustang. That was nothing special.

I ignored some Nissan SE-R thing to race a WS6..needless to say he handed me my ass. Don't know what he had done.

And that's all. :)

I've only ben in one race (not for lack of looking though), I beat a civic on the Highway in the 3000GT I had, wooo go me!

I raced the only two GLX VR6's in the valley. A black one and a red one. Sadly, I was beaten by them horribly. They just walked away from me :crying: . One of lifes lessons: DON'T PICK AT ANYTHING BIGGER THAN YOU ARE! :biggrin: . But I'd rather not get into any details on that :disappoin . L8...

i played with a v6 stang, but wasn't much of a challenge


besides that, not much really here

Beat a Fiero and an Accord LX in the rain this morning.
Beat a Mustang on gravel roads after school.
Beat a 240SX on the highway coming home a few hours ago.

I can't wait to see what the mods say about this thread.

I dont really street race, but a couple months ago I kept one of my friends at college from passing me. He's got a 2000 extended cab Dakota, 4.7L V-8, flowmasters. I drive a 1992 regular cab full size Chevrolet, 350, minor bolt ons.

He's always bragging about how good his truck runs and how if he ever got behind me he'd "pass me where he caught me", lol. Well, he got behind me, right up on my ass, we both gun it (in our words "Our feet were through the fire walls") from about 55-60 mph roll. We both shut down at about 105 or so. He never gained an inch, I never pulled an inch. I was almost suprised, becuase my truck is a couple hundred pounds heavier and rated about 20 hp less (from the factory). I still rub it in that he couldn't pass me (actually, I say "Man, you couldn't even swing out to try and pass me!")

Then like over a year ago, I had the same thing happen with a 2001 or so extended cab Z-71, only he was able to swing out to try and pass, just couldn't complete it (got to like my back tire and our straight stretch ran out, probably going 85-90). I didnt have any bolt ons at that time, so I think now he probably could'nt even get to my back tire.

Anyways, I very rarely do any street racing (mainly becuase I drive a 4WD truck with no major modifications). Now racing at the track is a different story (just not in the truck)!

One time I pulled up to a red light after leaving work, and it had been a long day so I was in a bit of a hurry to get to my girlfriend's house. As I pulled up to the light I saw a white BMW 325, but had other things on my mind and forgot about it. So when the light turned green, me being in a hurry, I stepped on it kinda hard. A few seconds later I hear a roaring engine and just see this white streak fly by. It was pretty awesome.

I used to have an old 63 Dodge Polara 4 Door "bondo buggy" it was a tan car with red, black, and gray primer sprayed all over, it really did look sad, it had 108K on it's stock 383 and burned 2qts of oil a week, I bolted on a 400 4bbl intake and carb and a set of headman headers and dual exhaust and everythime I got into it it would smoke like the dickens when decellerating, but other that that it ran pretty good, just keep it filled with cheap oil!

One day we (The wife was with me) were toying around with a mid to late 70's Z-28 with 2 teens in it, we pulled up to a light and the guy in the Z pulls up beside me and honks and the passenger rolls down the window and shouts, "Why do you go and do us all a great favor and get that POS off the road!" I looked at him and said "Tell you what, you beat me to the next light (2 blocks away) and I'll let you follow me directly to the closest wrecking yard and I'll leave it and you can drive us home! Deal?" The guy driving says, "You got it asshole, your toast now!" The wife looks at me and said "You better kick his ass good, we don't have another car". The light turned green and we took off, he did get the hole shot but his advantage was very short lived as the old Polara started getting in it's stride and walked right by the Z, I had 2 cars on him by the first block and was still pulling away, I get halfway down the next block and bail out of it. (Of course emitting a smoke screen!) We stopped at the next light and I rolled down the window again and yelled over "Gee, maybe I should be the one following YOU to the wrecking yard!" The wife was rolling she was laughing so hard.

I was driving home from school and this dude in his F-350 turbo diesel work truck tried to keep me from passing him in the other lane...I floored it for like 2 seconds and I blew past him pretty bad.

i pulled up to a newer celica gt-s on the highway at about 80. i looked at him then floored it, but i just walked away, after that i just follwed him going like 110 for a while. ps. what a weird driver
celica driver: weaves through traffic, catches up to me, passes me on right, i pull up to him, rev, take off, he doesnt... he proceeds to pass me later and go 110-115 for a while for no reason

So how do you know he was even trying?

1st kill 1996 chevy ext. cab z-71, we were following behind him he went over 3 times left of center like he was going to pass someone in front of him but nobody was there, i flip on the L.E.Ds and he knows we want to play, he floors it and gets the jump, it takes about that long to get on his ass, he leads us out to a county road outside of town. we hit the twisties at about 90 and the first one he cant keep it on the road due to the previous afternoon sprinkles. he banks it. hooked him up and he later blew a .22

i work at a police dept. on weekends. I am currently CLEET Certified Unarmed Reserve.. meaning im a cop without a gun. so i am always the passenger. the guy was swerving i turned on the cherries and he attempted to elude resulting in him losing control. a push bar is the bar in front of police cars. and "he blew .22"
He was DUI/DWI and his BAC (blood alcohol content) was .22 (legal limit is .08) and i threw in the factory duals and lights and push bar on a 04 crown vic Police Interceptor, just dropping clues to see if someone would catch it.

But i get KILLS all the time. we had a nice one last weekend that we thought was going to get away.
i dont know what the car was but it looked exactly like a supra but it was a lexus. i dont know the model. we were doing 135 on rough roads. we got him though because he got a little way ahead and thought he would turn onto a dirt road. and turn into a buddies driveway. he followed his tire tracks all the way to him. 18 years old and lost his license for 5 years, $1500+ in tickets and additional tow/impound fees

Anyways as for short races. I was at henry's donuts pulling a prank on my friend (long story) And this mid to early 90's jetta pulls into the lot. 18" wheels, huge unpainted front fascia, and a rear panel that looked like it had a skin disease (all the while I was thinking how i'd love to put him in his place in front of his girlfriend). Him, and his girlfriend leave, and I wait for my friend to finish the prank. He comes in and we leave to his house, and I drop him off.

On the way home down the freeway around 1am I see a car in front of me... sure enough its the exact same jetta, but he's the only passenger :disappoin . I pace him around 75mph and he takes off, and by the time he got 2 car lengths I dropped down to 3rd and followed. I start creeping up around 100mph, and then by the time I hit 120mph, I just blew by him. I get 2 car lengths on him, and I figure he knew he was beat so I tap my brake pedal so he knows I'm done, and then went home. It's great to get in a good race before you go to sleep. Too bad his girlfriend wasn't with him.

I beat a VW Golf of some sort. I'll assume it was a VR6.. But no clue. It was pretty quick but on the freeway I walked him fairly easily.

I hate people who debadge their car... I wanna know what I'm toying with. :p

But yeah... it wasn't anything worth posting about... 'cept here.

HAHAH shit I almost choked to death on my starburst chew reading my post...

I was on my way to school in the 03 eclipse GT and I see a porsche cayenne coming up in the lane I need to merge into so I speed up, he sees this and floors it right past me as if I was standing still. I looked at him as he passed and I was all smiles but he just looked over with a 'wtf' look on his face (it was a parent of a younger kid).


A new mustang passed me in a 1 lane road, I tried to speed up so he wouldn't cut me off like I knew he would but he just walked right past me. To add insult to injury once he was ahead of me he slammed on the brakes causing me to have to brake pretty quick and we went down to about 1st gear speeds where he tried to burn out in front of me but it looked as if he bogged the launch and lurched towards the side almost throwing his car off of the road. This was in an area highly concentrated with your stereotypical 'wreckless redneck drivers' in the middle of nowhere. Too bad to see a dumbass beat up on a brand new car but ah well.


Had a run in with my friends black rsx on a number of occasions. His is mtx and mine is atx so it varies from time to time. Usually he beats me because by the time I downshift he's already got a car length on me but I've taken him on a couple of runs.


I'll race another friend with an 03 I-4 accord ex from time to time and I always take him up top but he sticks with me at lower speeds.

raced a friend's jeep v8 and got schooled off of the line but we usually get pretty even at high speeds.

Other than that the small races range from riced out civics to cavaliers and v6 stangs.... Those are about all the eclipse can take.

Just like any other thread I'll leave it open, and I'm sure the others will, as long it stays alive and people keep things civil. If things get out of hand it gets closed just like any other thread. Anyhow, to be on topic I'll post up a recent kill.

Early last week I was on my way to work and running a little behind. I was trying to make a light and missed it. At the light a green Saturn pulls up next to me. He keeps inching forward and looks over at me. Looks like he wants to race. No matter, even though I'm in the Sebring I'm also in a hurry. The light turns green and we both floor it. I easily walk away putting about three car lengths on him before I had to come to my turn.

On a side note I saw something dastardly on my way home the next day. I saw a debadged Evo. You could tell it was one from the side or the front, but from the rear it looked like an OZ Rally Lancer. He had removed all badging that would tell you it was an Evo. Sneaky punk, you're not fooling anyone.

theres a white one around my area that has no wing, and it was debadged. even from the back it doens't look like the rally art version. it has pretty fat tires and its really obvious from the back, also the flared fenders shows alot from behind too.

I think i saw one today... I say think because the hood didn't have the vents like an Evo, but it was swoopy like the Evo.

Although it looked like one from the way the body looked with the little flares. Maybe he swapped on a stock Lancer hood and put on the Lancer Rally Art spoiler.

I was parked two paces from it and coming into the parking lot in my work Van I kept saying to myself... an Evo?

Yeah right. thast just dumb its like me getting a Kia Rio body kit on a supra. well yeah i raced my friend in my uncles 97 Toyota Tercel vs my friends mom Astro AWD. i had his ass 1st , 2nd gear and in 3rd he smoked me then i was about 2 past him in 4 gear but he decided 2 stop. pretty fun night lol.

i raced my best friends modded legacy (I/H/e). I kept up with him until about 100, which was when he shut down.

At the end my nose was about near the crack between the door and the front fender.

not bad for a stock car, eh?

1st: Raced my friends 69 comaro 4 speed auto with a crate 350 in it. From a roll at 40 mph me in 2nd gear 4k rpms. i Honk down and pull hard through secound. halfway through secound his car finally downshifts. By the end of secound i am 1.5 cars ahead and my lead has stopped. I shift into 3rd at 6.2k rpms and he stops my pull dead it is tracks. half way through 3rd he is 2 cars ahead and i am loosing him fast. At the top of third his pull is briefly halted, but he soon shuts down.

2nd: Friends 99 maxima, auto 180 hp. From a 15 mph roll in first at 4k floor it shift to 2nd at 5800 pop the tires loose, and i am pulling on him hard the whole time. Top of third i shut down and i have about a buslength on him.

3rd: My fave race so far this Feb. A kid at my school has a Debadged F-150, It looks just like a lightning except he has 22 inch crome harley davidson rims. Only mods were flowmasters and an intake. From the stop light i get a PERFECT!!!!!111!!!ONE! launch and get a car length on him. halfway through secound i am 1.5 carlengths on him. Halfway through 3rd i shut her down and have 3 carlengths on him. From a roll we were going 40 mph (my fave roll speed 2nd gear 4k) i honk down and we both floor it. i imediately pull a car on him and at 6.2k rpms i shift into third with 1.5 cars on him at about 5k in 3rd i shut down with a solid 2 cars on him.
Greatest thing about the story is this guy thinks his truck is the fastest thing on the planet. Always telling people how fast it is and what he beat. Iceing on the cake is a lowly 5spd tc beat him. He never would of told anyone about it if it wasn't for his friend sitting in the passenger seat. The was a nice buzz at school the next day about how some kid in a "really fast tc" beat "Overstreet's Truck".
Needless to say i was walking tall that day. :)

I smoked a pontaic sunfire at a light in my uncles forester XT. It was like a orange color? The xt is mad fast! pretty good race...Not enough to post tho...I beat him by like 10 lenghts...Bus lenghts...

Earlier today, I was coming home on the freeway, and caught up with this Jetta. It happens to be from S-ville, Dark blue, unpainted body kit, huge wing, rims, and of course the can. I took a run at him and instantly found out that he was all-show-no-go. Take that VW :swear: Damn GLX's...I'll get you back....you'll see.

No offense to VW owners. I just got owned this past weekend by some GLX VR6's. Huuuuuhhh...damn. L8...

I raced my friends 86 Iroc with a 350 and a 700R4 awhile back. I actually managed to keep pace with him. I just let off at 70, since there was traffic ahead.

I would never ever ever street race.








On another note, among my mini not worth mentioning races are the following:

Body kit Integra, this was on the highway. The kid must have been automatic because his exhaust note showed no change of pace when we hit, just very slowly gained. Meanwhile, I dropped to 3rd, and flew past like a banshee.

300zx...This I probally should have made a thread about. I was coming home from a buddies house, and trying to get this foxbody to play. No luck, but as soon as turns, on a rampage behind him comes a 300zx..as he got close to mehe slowed due to coming at a light... we were only ones on road. He stopped alil behind me (im still thinking he is NA at this point). I hear him give alil, very lil rev. His car sounded nice. I rev back. All of the sudden I hear a huge spool and he pulls up right next to me and BOV pop'd my ear drums.I look over guy has to be 30-40. We both take off (my car spins a bit due to this being close to me just getting the car) and good bye he was gone.

Id post more, but I dont street race......

Took on some High School punks with a red and silver Astro Van (!), and a yellow Silverado. They were acting all badass ripping through the parking lot until I drove by and spotted them. Astro Van boy took off down the street and I chased, caught him within a few seconds and flew right by him. Yellow Silverado girl didn't put up a fight, so I just did some donuts for a few minutes and drove off.

Kids these days. Sheesh.

Put about 4 car lengths on a GTP last week going down the highway from a 60-110 mph run running @ the stock 4 pound wastegate setting.

ok so im on my way home from work, and ahead of me i see some unfamiliar tail lights moving pretty fast. So i try and catch up, it takes me like 3 mins driving 15MPH over the speed limiter to finally get to the guys bumper. Anways i see its a very well kept Dodge Stealth R/T. I never raced one, so i try to entice him to race, no go, he turns off shortly after. Anways would this car have rapped me?

BTW i have gas. . .

Lol, my "step" father's Geo Prizm tried to keep up with me last night as I was searching for other racers. The little car didn't have a chance in hell. I lost it going uphill! The Jetta is usually a turtle going uphill!

Needless to say, he was REALLY quiet this morning when he came in. :evillol: Why did he even try?!

I killed a RX8 in my Formula a couple weeks ago (it impressed me how good it took off on the line though) and a miati in Z3 don't even know why I raced it but I think it had something to do with old people mistaking my car for one.

Those are hard to take off the line cause of the 4 leg drive but on top end they bite, so that may make you run faster.:grinno:

it was in the street and ended up on top of my car. by the time i looked at me footometer, i was doing about 19mph. the dog with its 4leg drive was gaining on me at about 22mph. race was over after i ran into another car and ended up on top of it. dont drink and run kids :nono:

honestly, if you guys atually knew any cops. 8 out of 10 are assholes. i know some pretty cool ones. i was talking with a few on cruise night and they wanted to set up a run. they blocked an industrial road and i ran an OHP (Oklahoma Highway Patrol) Camaro on my bike (96 Honda Magna, highly modded) those camaros are insanely fast. i know some that cruise and street race in their personal cars up to 1/2 hour before they go on duty. if there as anyone in Oklahoma around the tulsa area that wants to run a crown vic im me for the small town im in.
P.S. i dont know the top speed of them but i personally have been in one doing 158mph and we slowed to take a turn.

I also have been told by a OHP that he hit 180 in his camaro on the turnpike (its a long toll road, 4-6 lane divided almost completely deserted at night and mostly straight. pretty much an american autobahn)

Man it was so tight. ok here is how it went. Just to let you guys know i am an underground street racer trying to get a job for these clubs we have. we race around town to different places following checkpoints marked by specific graffiti.
So we set it up. i am in my Dodge Viper GT-R Prototype. Im crusin when i get a call from my boss. he says to head down to main street.
we line em up. im agianst 5 other cars. a loutus elise (easy), Astin Martin, Modified cobra, stock Viper, and modified vette. we line them up and i launch like a mofo.
i pass like 3-4 of htem like it was nothing. its me, the cobra, and hte AM. we are neck and neck and we hit this 90 degree turn, i double clutch and hit 2nd and pull out of it. im feeling the vipers power. we hit the interstate and next thing you know the cops are on out asses.
well i know this viper can spank some crown vic so i fllow it and upshift to 6th. im going like 190mph when i het a turn that i wasnt expecting and spin out. the cop nails me and i have to stay there for 3sec before i am allowed to join the race agian....

Last night, me and some boys were out banging around the highway in my VR4, and then this dude runs up on us in his Skyline, and I was like, oh hell, man, its like survival of the fitest, so we were like weavin and shit, just spining though the gears....then my buddy tripped and paused the NFSU2 game, and I was like, dude, that was wack!


Then we turned it off to watch Aqua teen. I guess I'll never know if I can smoke that skyline...
