today i was going to get gas in my dads GTO and a BMW 330 pulled up to me and when the light went green by second gear at 85 mph i was already 2 car lengths infront of him...i think he thought it was a cavalier

What kind of engines do the diamante vr-4's have? 3.5 liter? Too bad you didn't meet up with a galant vr-4 :naughty: Any year of the galant vr-4 is badass, but I think they only had them in the us for two years in 91' and 92' when they had the 2.0 liter turbocharged engine, but still awd I believe. If you got one of those in the U.S. it would be a serious sleeper.

gotta admit... that is one fast car you got there in your signature... i'm considering making that modification myself... i could use the extra 400 hp

yeah it is, my friend had his up at 20lbs of boost on the stock turbo and it was INSANE!!! i actually think there are 3 GVR-4's in my town alone out of a total 3 thousand, i had a chance to buy one but i'm broke :-/ only 4k

Hell, if you were AWD, just one of your wheels would be putting down more HP then my entire Civ. Damn stickers. They should be put under restrictions. I just can't compete with them. No matter how hard I try. Intake, Exhaust, Camshaft, everything. There's just no substitution for stickers. Damn them all :swear: . i think the diamante do have a 3 liter engine dont know exsactly how big but it is a v-6.... those galants i gotta do more reasearch on those man but they definitly sound bad ass! from the little ive heard of it.

This isn't really racing news, but I'm getting a 1989 Civic with a B16A engine in a few days for free!

I had a go with a Saturn Vue on the way to school. I was running a little late and the lane I was in ended about 70 ft after the intersection we lined up at. The Vue kept inching up the whole time the light was red but I easily got in front after the intersection with plenty of room, so as not to cut anyone off.

Make that kill #1 for the Taurus.

I watched a Tiburon go speeding by and passing a suburban through a turn lane..then the SUV caught the Tibby and passed it. then a civic decided to race me without me knowing. He had atleast a car length headstart and i caught him in no time.

I raced my roommate today. I have a 1972 Cutlass with a built 455 Olds/TH-400 auto (just installed this weekend, fun project), he has a 1994 Ford Ranger V6.

He didn't believe my car was fast because the exterior is rather rusty, the interior is torn up, and it is missing the grille. Well, he was desperately wrong.

From the light, rolled on the throttle to avoid spinning, and finally hit full throttle at around 35 mph. Big mistake, hit a wet patch of concrete and the whole back end broke loose. Had to pedal it but ended up winning no problem.

I just got the car, and never realized just how fast a 3800 lb car with a 350 hp/450+ ft/lb torque motor could be! As soon as the motor hits 3000 rpm the torque comes on so strong the tires go up into clouds of smoke. So bad for the environment, but so cool!

My best race was a short one, but fun.

Yellow Z06 with at least exhaust. Sounded mean. Pulled up next to him, and we both were turning left, double turn lane. I made sure to compliment his car, as it did sound mean.
We both got around the corner, and kinda looked at each other. I hit it right about the same time he did. Neither of us was pulling. Ran doors to about 60. Let off, and slowed way down. He asked me what I had done. I told him intake and exhaust. Which at the time, was true. I hadn't installed the cam yet.
So, we are going about 15 MPH, and I give it the 3 honks. I hit it a touch late, so he pulled me about 1/2 car, then wasn't pulling anymore. Ran from 15 to about 60. Slowed back down, and ran one more time. This time, I screwed up pretty bad. I delayed a ton on the pedal. He got a great jump off the horn, and took off. Before I got into my RPM range, he already had over a car on me. So I let off quick.
He waved, as did I, and we went on our ways.

I am still looking for this car, I want to try him with the cam in.

Doubt it...a VTEC civ would be faster than ur Hyundai w/ BPU's maybe w/o.

I drive the i4, 2.0L Tib which sits at around 140hp stock. By far not the fastest import out there, but not slowest either. I will agree that a VTEC Civ would be a pretty even match or even bold enough to give my car a slight advantage. But for me having the lead I did, and as fast as he shot in front of me, theres no way he could have been stock or close to it. Sorry for the late reply, been off a couple days, but I gotta put in some defense for my baby. :)

I messed with a newer Mustang GT today. I have to admit, this one looked good. Stock, but this guy must take very good care of it. Not a spot of dirt or a scratch on it.

Anyways, I was on my way home from a job interview. I was in town for the first time in a while so I really wanted someone to at least mess with. So I just kept lookin around on the way out of town. Low and behold, a really nice (03'ish) Mustang GT was ahead. As traffic came to a rest at the light, I ended up right beside him. I just look over at him, and him at me. We look away and accelerate normally with traffic. As the traffic ahead got ahead of us a little ways, he pulled ahead a little. I just gave it a little gas, enough to make like 10in HG vacuum and shifted with my right fender right next to him. His windows were down and my BOV is to atmosphere. I guess he got the hint because he slowed down to get next to me. I let of the gas once again to sound my Greddy type S. He gassed it pretty good. The car squatted pretty well. There was quite a bit of traffic, so we didn't do anything dumb. I had a clear lane in front of me so I made about 5psi and put a few cars on him pretty quick. Then I looked back to see all the cars in front of him turn. I let off the gas and went down to about 35mph(SL was 45) and wait for him. So what does this douche do? He turns. I couldn't believe it. I wasn't but 6 cars up. He could have at least followed for a block or two. Jeez. I really want to race a GT too.

i played around with a 2000ish Camaro SS earlier...he was behind me at a light and there was a couple cars ahead of me, so i got on it kind of hard, but not too hard, and so did he. Next light, same thing. Third light, i looked in my mirror and i saw his back end get a lil loose when he took off, so i knew if we got a chance to open up that he'd be game.

A little farther down the road i saw him get in the turn lane from behind me, so i get over as well (its a 2-lane turn lane) and he pulls up next to me at the front of the line. Light turns green and he takes off kind of slow, so i take off somewhat quickly, not enough to break loose or anything, and take first up to about 4500 rpm (~6K rpm redline on the tach) and shift hard to second makin the left turn.

i spin tires quite a bit, actually makin me slide to the right even tho i'm turnin left, then i let off and shift into third and keep acceleratin, but not hard. Next thing i kno, the camaro just flies by me. it was the factory exhaust since it was quiet...i heard his engine over his exhaust...but we were comin up on traffic so he had to slam on the brakes...he was probably doin 60 while i was doin like 40ish.

yeah i noticed alot of new faces are posting in this thread. People who dont want all the attention of a full thread made by them, but just want to tell a little story. Ill admit if you make a thread that doesnt get many responses its kinda intimidating.

few days ago while driving my gf back from the airport: we had stopped to put our parkin ticket in the machine, our boom lifts and the guy next to us squeeks his wheels as he leaves,
he happend to be driving a riced out lancer with PHAT body kit and tin can exhauste, even had a nice large evolution sticker slapped on the back.

so i decide to show him the error of his ways, flaw it passed him and slow down so he catches up, he honks down and then flaws it, i let him go for a second then hit the gas in about 2 more seconds i have passed him again. i slow down and he slaps himself in the face with the stereotype again with a good old ricer fly-by, as he passes i hit it again and by 130 (kph) iv passes him a 3rd time.

not a good race but it was funnier than most :)

My story it pretty short as well, I was driving home last friday at like 2am after a night of the driving range then wings with the guys...I was at a red light with a guy who had a newer Mistibishi Eclipse...I didnt even look at him and didn't know he wanted to race, all I saw from his car was that it didnt have the V6 emblem on it, makiing it extremely slow....on the green her goes for it and im just shocked he wanted to show me up...I hit the gas pertty hard and let loose...bad shift into second...bad shift into third and I caught up and passed him going into 4th...by 5th gear in doing about 130km and I let off the gas and take it easy as he does the usual ricer fly-by while giving me the finger and (I think) trying to powerslide his fwd car around a right hand turn...

I laughed thinking that if he actually raced a real racer it would have been ugly

i dont get it, why do so many ricers give people the finger? Are they that upset that they just lost? SHould you have let them win cause you feel sorry for them? I really dont get it, if i race someone, win or lose, i give them the thumbs. To say hey thanks for the race, good race, no hard feelings. But im mean come on give a guy the finger cause he races you and wins?

its called the non-ricer fly by...it really pisses them off when you actually fly by them...when your still racing.

I had an interesting night last night. I saw a focus almost identical to mine. i never really got him to actually race though, i would just fly by and try to provoke him... try to get him to pull up to a light beside me, but he would then just fly by me again, so i chased him, but he ditched me, catching a right hand turn. i wanted to know what his car could do, it looked like an 03 or 04, and it would be an interesting match between the Zetec and Duratec engines.

I then got challenged by an older, medium size dodge truck with a V8 in it. you know, one of those beater trucks with a smaller muscle car engine in it. we burned tires next to each other for a good hundred feet and came out even after a few stoplights, with him shutting down earlier, so it was hard to tell who won. didn't really matter, it was a good race.

eh, I had fun the other night trying to keep up with a mustang gt in my jetta vr6...

good death I think, at least I kinda kept up he only beat me by a car and a half

I beat an escalade today in my mom's sienna lol, he was so suprised he thought he'd do a fly by in the oncoming lane!

Raced my buddies 97 4 speed auto gt mustang. We were on the freway and stopped next to each other on a two lane part of the road where it was didvided from the other side. I start by launching first since no of us were making any gestures to signal an official start. It was for fun anyways.

I get an instant car length because of my early jump. My car is just spinning so I let back off a bit around 5k to regain some traction then I get back up to about 6800 and I shift, once again sending my tired tires into a short spin. He got a late start but when he finally took off he stood even with my headstart at a car car and a half back. After 2nd though his mustang didn't pull anymore. I took it all the way up to 90mph, and I swear I gained atleast half a car on him.

After we got to his house he makes the usual excuse that his car didn't hook up at all (His mustang has bfgoodwrich traction t/a's and I know it wont roast the tires THAT bad) Even though he says he didn't hook up (like my front wheel drive se-r with bald tires really did :disappoin ) He wouldn't get into conversation of how he couldn't pass me after 30mph. I think his mustang could get me off the line, but I'm possitive I could could pull on him, and eventually pass him in a race to 100mph. We'll evetually get a real race, and then I'll post it.

If your confused about the launch I took off first then he took off.

I was cruising around in my '72 yesterday to go get some grub, lo and behold I am sitting a stoplight when a lowered white Del Sol with a black hood comes up behind me and stops REALLY close.

Sorta pissed me off when the guy revved his motor and it sounded like crap.

So, when the light turned I mashed it HARD and put a huge cloud of smoke and 2 black stripes right in front of his face. He promptly took a right turn after getting the smoke treatment, seemed a little freaked out.

There ain't nothing like the sound of a 455 through 2-in headers and 2.5 dual out the back, thumpa-thumpa-thumpa goes the lopey exhaust.

lost to a turbo'd Jetta, again. at least he provoked me instead of me provoking him. i know what i can handle and i wont embarrass myself by picking cars to race that i know will stomp me, but if they want to see what i've got, i'll be more than happy to see what they've got.

side note:

saw a ghetto-riced late nineties Neon with a HUGE wing. like he wanted to fly... with spray paint looking white paint. he was making a U turn and i was waiting to go straight, and he straight up broke his neck looking at my car.
me and my buddy were already busting up laughing at his car, and cracked up when he stared at us. i thought i could see his white face turn bright ass red as he whined by(we were further back in traffic) going the speed of grandma's Plymouth Acclaim. i haven't laughed that hard in a while. it actually sounded like an automatic. kids these days.

my prelude vs riced out civic. back then my lude was a stock SH - this little freakin civic had NOS, greddy, and aem stickers all over his car. we were going 70 on the highway and he pulled up next to me doin the 4th gear stomp thing makin his front end jump all over the place like a damn idiot. so i was like "pffft... ok...." gave him 3 horn counts and dropped it to third. Hello vtec!! goodbye civic!!shifted to 4th... got to the top of the gear and i could still hear him fighting to keep up about 2 cars back... i clearly stomped him and slowed down to a normal speed... only to have him blow by like he is still trying to race, with his finger out the window. i was like... "uhhh... what the fuck was that"... thats the attitude that makes me wanna smack every riced out idiot that i see.

damn i have been gone for like 3 days and now we have all this pages. so yeah my friends eclipse gs-t is gonna race my other friends 01 eclipse gt. i think my friends gs-t is gonna win. ill post here who won when they race.

i had him off of the line and up until about 65 whel he started pulling on me hard. He had about 2 cars on me by about 90 when i shut down.

I have basically stock cars(cai/hdrs) and needless to say I have had my ass handed to me many times. I pick all the wrong cars to race. here I am on the highway going 85 and faster, racing a totally sleeping sentra. Next thing I know I hear a loud sound from his car and away he goes. Damn nitrous. I seen then blue flame until he decided to show me mercy and brake until we were side by side and pointing at me laughing. Damn nitrous. "I need 2 bottles of NOS":lol2:

I saw the funniest thing last night. ok i was driving with my buddy down the same street where i saw the people with blue hair.and im crusing then i my rear view i see some head lights comming up fast so i pay no attention and a nissan xterra zooms by me like at 90 or something . and im like "damn hes in a hurry". and then about 3 sec later i hear a fart can in the distance going at full bore. then i seen the fart can's head lights then an RSX body kitted and rimmed up shot by me. so we make it to the light and the guy in the xterra give the guy in the rsx a thumbs up with his girlfriend and he returned it with a middle finger. and the rsx guy looks at me and revs it at me and sees that im still laughing my ass off from his previous race. and he yells at me. "that pos neon has got nothing on me. what do you think you are with that big wing ? an SRT-4 or something ha! thats a regular ass Neon huh!" so i just politly rev back at him letting hear the engine.then he jsut rolls his window up and turns right. the guy in the xterra started to cry from laughing. and he tells me he's been racing that guy from about 2 miles back and he always has an excuse of why he lost and that he can still beat him from the next lauch. i think if it was a type s i would have been in a tight squeeze because those are alot harder to beat then regular ones. the guy prolly had a regular one. ohh yeah the SRT-4 is Back in Action
