hehe, I guess I'll feel the difference later on, but rolling the throttle too fast on the sv650 has me panicked sometimes. especially with all the cages around me, the feeling of being absolutley vulnerable is a little unnerving. and here, we have more trucks/suvs and minivans, driving with blind-folds and lead-foot. all the motorcycle crashes I seen were thanks to soccer mom green mini-vans.

and WTF is it with the soccer moms that drive exrcusions and F-250 and 350's around? I blows my mind why these moms would ever get one of these. The exrcusions could pick up the whole damn team, but the trucks? Not much room for passengers and I never see the bed full. Wasteful really. Oh I almost forgot. Then they bitch, about gas prices.

I think its their attempt to feel superior on the road...
hahah just had an interesting experience this mornin;
I dropped the company car off and went to get into mine, when i realised the door handle was frozen...
Looked at the windows, ALL frozen... so i got in my car and tried to squirt some water onto the windshield, FROZEN TOO!..
Tried the windscreen wipers, FROZEN... hahahaha ended up having to wind all the windows down to see, and had to stick my head out the window the whole way home to see where i was going, i swear my snot nearly froze up in my nose, but because i could imagine the humourous site of me driving in my shi**y ole 81 diesel sedan with my head out the window at 6:00am at 2 degrees, i couldnt help but grin all the way home...
hehehe i got some pics of that r1 (i think) that i was tempted to sit on, can someone identify if its an r1 or r6? theres no stickers to tell, pics from my night in my gallery :)
hahahah, i just got off the topic in an off topic forum! :D

im guessing it was in the driveway, dont you yanks put bins out on certain days for garbage collection?? ... freaks :)
As for the ability to get your address, im sure a decent hacker could get into your isp account and find the billing procedures, atleast getting your full name and your bank card number or postal address, depending on how you pay, or simply looking at the name you've chosen to install microsoft products, like the splash screen that starts when you open word or powerpoint, when installing the product you get the option to put in your name, some people put there full name which would be up for grabs to any hacker with a brain.... sucks hey?

with naked sportsbikes, are they just as safe at high speed as the full fairing type? i love the look of some of these bikes, but want to know any of their downsides compared to normal sportsbikes :D

yes I guess we do have bins in the driveway. but our family lived a lifestyle where we would throw the trash out in a central unit outside. so didn't have to bother with garbage falling off front of the driveway.
I know all those things, but since Im not a hacker, I don't know how to go about it. So I'm up for bids, I wanted to know if someone could get my current home address just by full name and city alone. don't worry, lol, I keep nothing worth of value for someone to steal at my apartment.
with naked bikes, you will suffer a little handling, especially if you don't have windscreen and riding on the freeways at high speed.
Btw, I could have told you if it was R1 or R6, if you hadn't blocked FRONT OF THE BIKE. lol.
Dammit Boyo, what're you doing with your tongue? It's not like you're in front of a cat.

Damn I live in Western Washington State and when it rains it's usually for the whole day. It's kinda sad. When it doesn't rain for two or three weeks in a row people start worrying about drought and burn bans.
Side note Seattle was found to be the most overpriced city in the US.

of course it has negative sides to it. but you asked to name other naked bikes, I stated what's sorta popular here for newbs. sv650 has no upper fairing and the handle bar is standard. S has an upper fairing, windscreen, tighter suspension (I guess), and the handle bars are racy (sporbikes).

as for the helmet, it's not recommended to use second hand helmets. two reasons. 1st helmets should be replaced every 5 years due to the materials deteriorating with time and even petrol fumes. 2nd is that they mould to your head. you may have a dent where he had a bulge and then there is a gap. that gap creates a chance for less protection in case of an accident

HJC is SNELL certified... they aren't "crap" helmets... just not $400 a pop like Shoei or Arai. Personally, I believe that Shoei and Arai are just like buying Nike b/c it's Nike... they don't fit me well, and I buy what does... my HJC being a fine example.

BLU CIVIC has donated money to keep AF a free site for everyone else.
SNELL is a foundation formed for the purpose of conducting "higher level" tests on helmets. the DOT (or whatever the national transportation is in an area) keeps "loose" monitors on helmet makers. SNELL performs another kind of test above and beyond the DOT. All helmets that pass the SNELL test are "safer"... whether they cost $400 or $200. My AC-11 is SNELL-M2000 rated, which was the most recent SNELL rating at the time of purchase last July.

IIRC, I think SNELL re-evaluates their tests every 5 years or so. I can't promise this, but that is the "trend" that I have noticed. The only other SNELL rating I've seen in my searches for the last 3+ years is SNELL M95, so that's where I get my "information" from. Hope that helps.

I attend Florida International University (we get lot of Aussies, hehe) in Miami, beginning fall would be my second year. We have two campus, North and South, I got a chance to take classes at both site. Planning to attend there for a year more or two and then hopefully transfer to somewhere else for BA. As of now, I'm majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry (still undeclared). If things go well, I might add in one more major (possibly Philosophy/Psychology).
Hey Tangie, you'll be teaching students in regular schools without your masters? Whoa!
Officially here, a person pursuing a career in teaching must have BA/BS and two more years of training before being allowed to monitor one or two classes as a substitute. Specific field requires at least one masters (obviously) and a few training course I believe. But things have degraded over the years, and so many teachers quit due to underpaid salary, negligence, and abuse. Since then, they're about sticking anyone who can barely understand and "communicate" in English into local high school classrooms. lol. Go figure why Florida is in the low-scale of nationwide education standards.

Specific field requires at least one masters (obviously) and a few training course I believe. But things have degraded over the years, and so many teachers quit due to underpaid salary, negligence, and abuse. Since then, they're about sticking anyone who can barely understand and "communicate" in English into local high school classrooms. lol. Go figure why Florida is in the low-scale of nationwide education standards.

what did the arts graduate say to the engineering graduate?
would you like fries with that. he he
as for helmets, lyndon, its all up to you. i'm a self confessed brand snob and i'll only buy top shelf stuff. you should buy what your comfortable with, both in fitment and price. if you buy a 'cheap' helmet you may regret the waste of money but the same goes for an expensive one.
don't forget that your first helmet will be an 'experiment'. you'll drop it and scratch it up and work out what you like and don't like about it. then replace or upgrade when you feel like it

Z, starting teachers are more "marketable" with only a BS in Ed. Your pay is cheaper, so districts will opt for a BS over a Masters almost any day. I will get my PhD after a few years, but I do want a masters first, instead of going straight for the Piled High and Deep.

glad you like them dude. i feel better that someone can use them than to let them waste away in a cupboard. i have no experience with the 'flip fronts'. i'll start to check out some brands for you next time i'm at the bike store.
