Hello! I have been a lurker for these past few weeks and I enjoy reading about your work in progress. Looking at that kit justifies the cost in my opinion. :) I would just like to point out that since you are into a lot of detail didn't the ferraris also come with springpads? They are thin rubber pads that prevent the springs from sliding around in the metal. Maybe you could add that too? Great job in that kit! I wish you luck!

I'm still amazed when I see it. But you really need to hurry up with it instead of driving around in Gallardo's :P

hahaha chris

thanks for the idea Ernest but I think that extra effort would pretty much go unnoticed since they would be so small and be hidden by the wheels, etc.

Building of a F40's front axle

http://speed.supercars.net/boardpics/2003-10-22/1717645-SupercarFreaka.jpg
The white sheet is a self-adhesive cutting template. I cut out a brake pad, took off the backing and applied it to the 1 mm thick rubber foam sheet.

Completed brake pad.

I failed to take pics of the original parts to show you the ridiculous amount of drilling and modifying of the Pocher parts I had to do.

The only acceptable reason for this delay in progess posts is if supercarfreak, in his attempt to shrink himself to 1:8 scale, got lost with the magic school bus!

That's incredible. I am so super jealous, that thing has to be a total blast to build. What do you use to tighten the bolts? Do you have a little wrench set or did the kit come with a special little tool? Man that is awesome... I can't beleive it. I wouldn't dare refute your sig, but I hear Pocher makes really detailed models (with moving crank and pistons, I think? I don't remember) but its all heresay since I haven't seen them built up. Anyway, great work! This is looking insane and incredible, we are ALL jealouse I'm sure!

Edit: Man do I feel like a moron. It's the Autograph transkit for the Pocher F40. Oops. I guess the only way you can better your model building experience would be to build a 1:1 F40 from a kit....
