You lucky man, sitting in an F1 is indeed a snug fit but then most of the best drivers cars are stops you falling about lol.

it must be in better condition than in Carugati showroom.

I wonder if the car is private owned or belongs to DK ?

The car had been 'detailed' since leaving Carugati and it looked in great condition - the engine bay was immaculate, and apparently the undertray is spotless too. The headlining was a little worn in places, possibly caused by over-enthusiastic cleaning by the detailers and the small wear and tear on some of the seat sides where they weren't 100% had been corrected.

Safe to say I wouldn't be ashamed owning and driving the car in that condition :)

Behind my son was a 250LM [could be 6045 but I'm not 100% on that] and a 275 GTB - its at DK Engineering near London :thumbsup:

Just noticed they peeled on the US emissions compliance decals off 028. When you think about what it cost to get them, especially the one for California, that's a bit shocking. :D

EDIT: Scratch that, I wasn't looking at the right spots.

Did they remove that stripe for cleaning the windscreen wiper off the glass too?

I'd never noticed the wiper detail before, and yes it was still there :)

I think that is an addition from the Japanese owner - they have more quirky car mods over there than anywhere. It would be the first thing I removed from the car. :D

So is it just being stored, getting serviced or is it actually for sale?

The car was recently involved in the transaction for the purchase of an important Ferrari being acquired by its previous owner with the assistance of DK Engineering, and was used as a partial trade. It is already sold to a new owner who will keep it in the UK.

Here's a picture of the Ferrari - not a bad choice. :)

I think that is a 250 testa rossa

The Ferrari was considerably more expensive than the McLaren F1 - it is indeed a 1958 250 Testa Rossa, chassis 0754.

Thanks for the clarification, despite my love of racing cars I may still have opted for the F1 despite it being a road car.

Mind saying that for what the Testa cost you could have both road and race versions and ample spare to have a great deal of fun in both of them.

I saw some of the cars being loaded up last week before their long journey to get there. I was told #012 was going, but I didn't know the full complement of cars - the spread of icons there is amazing!

Of course some of them were loaded (if not all of them), it would be too much to drive well over 1500 kilometers to Greece, wouldn't it?
Slightly off topic here, I am sorry for that, but I am curious if some of McLarens were in Croatia in the past. I mean, has any of Macs ever visited Croatia? There are some great roads (Senj to Karlobag...). Or are there any stories which connect McLaren to Croatia, would really be thankful for answer, I would like to spread my knowledge abou McL.)

Great to see 05r in the UK again. Been a couple of years Greg since we saw it at Chelsea Legends show. Still so strange seeing these GTR's in city locations.
