And following that up with another great photo - this one shared by a friend of the program showing #059.

Technically I don't believe this F1 is still in the UK (as of a couple of weeks ago), but it's rather obvious this shot was taken next to the same building where that one rather famous F1 LM shot with the porthole windows was taken, so I figured I'd stick it here.

I spent quite a bit of time cleaning that LM photo up back in the day and have had to do similar with this photo as it was showing a lot of artifacts with heavy compression. I think it has turned into quite a beautiful image as a result - I 'repainted' nearly the entire car!

Click the preview image above for the large version and enjoy!!

Those are actually old pictures of GTR #07R which for a short period of time wore an identical paint scheme to the original livery on #01R. Thanks for finding them though as they are new to me. :)

New images to me also, thanks!
Erik: How did you regonised this, what is the difference of details?:smokin:
I can only see that there is no GTR text on the side but #01R didn't had that all the time.

I don't think you will find a single photo of #01R without the 'GTR' script on the sides. It was even present on the car at the 1995 Le Mans Pre-Qualifying on April 30th and I don't see any good reason the car would be displayed at a dealership in between then and the race. The next step in its life would have been the conversion to Ueno Clinic colors and after the race we know it has never changed.

The real clues of that being #07R comes down to the tiny antenna on the top of the roof scoop and the differences in the lower front bumper. Compare the images of both and you'll see. :)

OMG !!!

I reconize the hotel name behind the car, it's in Paris.

It's probably an auction from Artcurial but I don't know the year.

F... good !

I Believe you're correct. Definitely invitation only (security reasons). A client of mine runs a shipping/insurance company specializing in High-Dollar Jewelry and watch shipments and the security at their shows compares to the Secret Service. Malca-Amit... I'll see if I can get a in touch with him and get a shot.

I think the new owner (http://www.rennteam.com/forum/page1.html?vs=0#post15) is French but UK based

It was very very good indeed! First I took it out on road tyres and actually, well, it was shite. Ok, I'm harsh here, but honestly it wasn't great, these are supposedly Mclaren Michelin Pilot sport developed for the F1, well, they're ok for road driving but for trackdays, the car understeers loads and loads, oversteers on acceleration, it's ok for two laps and then the tyres are outside their comfort zones and the car becomes undrivable.

I spoke to Paul Lanzante before the session and he told me the chassis setup was the same as the F1 LM road car, well, for trackdays I can't imagine those 5 owners having any fun except if they put slicks on, which I did!

And the car felt a lot better, still not perfect but much much better, hardly any pitch on braking which is surprising, not that much roll either and with the tyres at temperature, the car was soft of course but huge fun.

The car is neutral and feels easy, the point was not to go for a lap time.

I'm gonna get grilled for writing that but the engine didn't feel as strong as I thought it would feel. Very torquey but the car doesn't feel that fast. For a similar power output, the Carrera GT V10 feels stronger! Honest.

I have very little pictures taken with my iphone but a friend of mine was there just to do that we plenty are coming soon including some nice video clips.

Here are a couple, the driver is my mate and ex Porsche works driver Manu Collard, who was cool enough to take my mates for some hot laps. He was here mostly to coach me and validate the setup of the GT3 R getting ready for the 2013 season. We will race together the 6 hours plus races.

He liked the GTR, a lot

I'd be surprised if it was; there are other F1's more 'sought after' than #012 that have been sold recently for less than that figure. My guess would be something like #029 or #060 [if they have sold]

Love that color, it must be in live even more superb than images. Usually these are that bright silver, this one is actually looking awesome this dark silver. :smokin:

Greg; tell us how it was like to sit there, in the drivers seat... how was it?
I have imagined that everything is very well desinged, ergonomically brilliant and the materials are really something not seen every day? :smokin:
