Getting a little more each day, were up to like 14+ days of continual snowfall now. We are again top of the heap when it comes to total snowfall among the major cities in NY. And to think we were at the bottom of the barrel with only 9" for the season just before Christmas. :lol:

Just checked the radar and there is another lake effect band forming to the west of us a bit. It is expected to move east over us in a couple of hours.

:) Well, it looks as if there are not that many places for the Caribou to hide from her.

no, I'm about 600 miles too far south. Even then, our closest caribou is the Woodland Caribou (aka Elk), which is off-limits for hunting due to its low numbers. The Ministry of Natural Resources is working to restore the population.

I think Palin got a "Grant's Caribou", which is a different subspecies, and dwells much closer to arctic regions, a long, long way from here.

Around here it's whitetail deer, coyote, hare, turkey, ducks, and geese, with moose and bear only a couple of hours drive away.
Mostly though I hunt gophers (groundhogs) and porcupines because they piss me off and damage my property.
I am all for the regulated, sustainable hunting of any game animal. In Canada, millions of dollars generated by the sale of hunting licenses and tags goes towards sensible ecological management and wildlife preservation programs.

I do find it amusing when people, especially city dwellers have such fits about hunting animals, yet most eat meat, feed meat to their pets, and wear leather. They protest hunting, but almost never contribute a dime towards maintaining wildlife areas.... something which hunters do annually.
