Ok, well I didn't knew which one there raced; seems Team Bigazzi's #17R been in action?
I wonder why there isn't anything anywhere mentions of this race.......:crying:

Which chassis went to replace #14R to Japan after it's crash in Sugo?
I have allways difficulties to remember that. :uhoh:

Despite somewhat feverish searching, no photos of the car in its damaged condition have ever been located. Lindsay Owen-Jones was at the wheel of the car when it crashed in free practice on the Thursday before the race. Tracks are usually not full of spectators then and even motorsport photographer, John Brooks, who followed the series along wasn't there yet at the track to capture any evidence.

I'm a little confused, I looked at pictures of the blue and orange cars and they are put up with different numbers attached to them. One of them is 12R. So what numbers are the blue and orange cars. Were their more than two of the blue and orange GTR's throughout the 95 season specifically? Perhaps one as a back-up if one crashed?

You mentioned #02R is getting rebuilt. Did you mean #05R because that's definitely happening, unless I've missed something seriously huge?
#04R is owned by McLaren, in the LARK livery minus the actual LARK text. It's going to Asia to be a showroom display car.

Never been registered or converted for road use despite wearing the UK Registration plate 'CIA 4' for many years. Call it an unfulfilled dream of its former owner.
In the past two years it has been stripped of the plate and the orange paint and was restored to its original Yellow/Blue Parabolica livery. It was shown and run up the hill several times at last year's Goodwood Festival of Speed.

I couldn't be happier that it was returned to the Parabolica livery.
It looks absolutely magnificent.
One less all Papaya GTR as well, even if it was a longtail and therefore easier for people to differentiate between that and an LM.

The orange paint went on the car when it was still racing in the British GT Series. There are a few twists to the story which have been covered here in the past. Ultimately it was never converted for road use despite some claims and indications to the contrary.

Guys, was there ever anything under the boot (frontal compartment) of the Mac GTRs ? I know that for road going Mac, there's a Kenwood stereo located inside the nose above the suspension, but what about the GTRs? And is it true that all Mac has hydraulics used in the butterfly doors' mechanism?

I couldn't locate any photos of a very early GTR with its bonnet cover off but here are some examples of what was there from about mid-1995 (Le Mans 24Hr race) onwards with most of them - in different states of disassembly of course. The sections of carbon tubing seen in some shots here channels air from the center of the nosepiece through the front section of the chassis and into hoses that cool the front brakes.

How about the 2 covers for the exhaust compartments and the spoiler Peloton25? Is the spoiler supposed to be stuck onto the last rear cover like in this replication : http://www.legacydiecast.com/product_images/aa81040_4.jpg ?

The bonnet cover was always a separate piece - even into the longtail GTRs.
Unless there's some magic going on in this shot it seems that the early GTRs utilized some kind of hinge at the forward edge of the bonnet cover like the road cars have. Then a couple of Dzus-style fasteners near the top corners were used to keep it closed. It does appear that it was fairly easily separated from the car though.

Also located the shot I missed before of a GTR with the earlier style nose piece featuring those exposed NACA ducts and showing the bonnet cover off. Seems to be that the brake ductwork was there from the beginning as you can clearly see the connection points for it.

Hmm, very interesting. So you can actually remove the entire front bonnet off the car just like a Le mans GTP ?
How about the 2 covers for the exhaust compartments and the spoiler Peloton25? Is the spoiler supposed to be stuck onto the last rear cover like in this replication : http://www.legacydiecast.com/product_images/aa81040_4.jpg ?
I am working on a modification to the UT diecast model of the car, so all these information are gold to me ! Thanks a lot mate :)
Sorry - responding out of order here.
Unlike on a standard F1 road car, the rearward engine cover that would normally be hinged and cover the catalysts was a separate removable panel on the GTRs, held on by four Dzus-style fasteners. Here you can see the panel coming off #07R during a pit stop at Le Mans in 1995.

The wing uprights go down and connect to some fixed parts of the rear bodywork structure on either side below.

Holy long original filename
I covered the rear section in the post above. :)
I'm off to sleep now but if you have more questions I am sure others here can assist or I'll be back around later on.
Be sure to come back here and share the changes you make to the model when you are finished with it. :)

Many thanks mate ! Just to be sure, are those 2 carbon thingies on top removable like another covering lid of some sort?
According to the details acquired so far, i'm quite sure it's gonna be awesome once the mod is finished :)

The V shape moulding you are looking at, is a one piece moulding, it feeds air to both front brakes via the central intake in the bumper and yes it is removeable for access to the master cylinder/reservoirs and front air jack etc.

Hey mate, from this picture it seems that the entire rear grille can be removed also, just to see the engine compartment?
Do you happen to own any more photos of the front bonnet (the removed piece - i am looking for close up shots on the front grille) and the engine ( from a horizontal viewpoint with the engine and its exhaust pipes)?

Was this FINA Bigazzi ever raced in Le Mans? The info on the UT dealer box said it was featured in the 1996 LM series. DO you happen to have photos of it during that race? I am looking for the proper decals now

The car did indeed race at Le Mans in 1996. There are a few good photos of it in here courtesy of Mendaman:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/mendaman/sets/72157623915271810/with/5352299700/
There will probably also be some photos of it in the Le Mans 1996 annual if you can catch sight of a copy.

Another question mates: judging from this photo:

And this :

It seems that there were other carbon fibre covers for the 2 giant radiators and the suspension? Were such features included on the short tails?

Photo 1 is Long tail photo 2 is Short tail as far as I am aware the differences displayed are correct for the two varieties.
There may have been minor differences between cars run by different teams but I would doubt if anything thaty significant.
It has to be remembered that the Long tail was more or less a pure bred racing machine where the Short tail was more production car based. (granted with quite a bit of modification)

Hmm that makes sense
Okay guys, new problem. Apparently creating an entirely new frontal compartment means i have to cut open the model, damaging the decals. I am planning on using the decals i can find for the longtail GTR of 1997 to apply on to the 1996 car (with one france flag together with a Union Jack on either side). Will that work?
