Sweet! Post link to where you got them. I want to check these things out. Also, what kind of camber correction kit are you going to use? This is the only thing that screwed up the suspension on my last car. Give me some input oh master of the Preludes. Inquiring minds must know.
I likes de coo green color mane! ![]() Alan P.S.- Has anyone else noticed that there are about 50 billion of these smiley things that we never use? :grey: WTF!?! or :alien2: When the hell do you use those?

I've heard that the Tein's have a rusting problem. Had you heard about this drift? Or do live in an area where that wouldn't be a problem...thanks and would love to hear your feedback on them

i just installed them and set them at 12 in the front, and 16 in the rear. i also removed the front sway bar as i broke both of the endlinks.
**be careful with plastic Prelude endlinks!!** so far i have them set at stock height until the springs settle, tho i will probably lower it a half inch tomorrow and keep it there til it's settled and determine what to do from there. once settled, i'll corner weight it. as for the rusting, i have heard of it, but am not too concerned. aint nothing a powdercoating can't fix. shouldnt become a problem since i'm not gonna be raising and lowering the perches once i get the settings right. as for a camber kit, i'm not slamming it. since it will be set up for racing, the slightly increased camber should help me keep more contact patch on the ground thru the turns. |

i opted for the HA's due to more adjustment, helper springs, higher spring rates, higher dampening levels, and rebuildability |

mine are like 670psi front, 450psi rear. the frotn sway bar is out and probably wont be going back in as it would make the front too stiff for cornering. at the lowest setting, the ride is still stiffer than stock. as for the SS's, the spring rates are significantly lower than the HA's. for the Prelude, the SS's front springs are the same as the HA's rear springs, and the rear SS springs are even lower. this, combined with a low setting will probably result in a stock-like feel. as for the HA's, there's no way to get a stock feel back in my ride. corners are flat, with little roll at the lowest setting, and very little roll at the highest setting. front end doesnt dip during hard braking at the highest setting, and no tip up during acceleration. it feels like a little red wagon. the rear springs tend to clunk over sharp bumps in the road, but may not once the springs settle and the helper springs get a chance to relax a bit. at stock height, my helper springs are fully compressed. more than likely, it'll clunk more... but i dont mind it. so, speaking from the HA's, i definitely like them a lot. i'll be lowering the car tonight. with little movement, it shouldnt rub the fenders. also, the struts are shortened piston. taking out the old struts may be a bit painful, but putting in the Teins was a snap. |

I was told that SS is supposed to have a ride close to HA's ... If I knew there was only a slight difference in price from SS to HA then I would have gotten the HA's but since I have SS, guess I'll have to live with it ...

jesus christ those front spring rates are really high, I could not stand that where I live!
Also, i wondered why you were talking about springs settling? Those springs should not settle for over a year? Do they not pre-set them in production? Actually how are those springs not progressive? with the two spring sets with different size coils?

the front spring rates are very high, but the struts were valved to control them properly. considering the FWD and motor weight, they provide better front end support without nose-diving, and proper weight balance on the front corners due to lack of nose dive. i removed my front strut bar since i ended up breaking the links anyways, and would recommend tossing the sway bar for this setup. as for settling, the springs, as far as i have dealt with Tein, they dont preload the springs during manufacture. they will settle with time. the springs arent progressive. they are a consistant wound coil. the helper springs on the other hand provide no progressiveness tot he spring tension. they merely expand on full extension to keep the spring in the upper mount and prevent "clunking". |

Thanks for the info on the HA's Drift, I'm curious as to the feel of the SS's but it's good to know about the HA's as well, since they are only a little bit more $$$. What exactly is the purpose of the helper springs? Is it for added support, or dampening? And can the SS be ordered to custom spring rates like your HA's were? All I want, is a GOOD quality stock like ride, that I can push to limits the stock suspension would never be able to handle, and also a ride I can adjust per driving situations I might be in, such as cruising with friends, then coming up on a maountain road, pulling over and adjusting the ride to the stiffer setting, and then adjusting it back soft when back on the freeways and/or roads. I don't need a road racing competant setup, just something that'll handle occasional mountain type driving. This is why I'm opting for the SS over the HA. That, and the SS are very well priced for what they offer, and their reputation.
