Question ECU codes

hey guys, lately i've been getting the check engine light and today i went to see what code i got. the only problem i have is, how do i read the flashes?

the light flashed more than 30 times (i checked the ECU codes section on 4thgenerationcivic.com and i noticed no code for anything with 20+ flashes)

lets say i got a code 20 for example, does it stop flashing after 20 or does it stop for a bit then flash 20 times again?

im confused..
