B18B and B18B1 What's the Dif?
I'm looking on this website:
http://www.4thgenerationcivic.com/engines/Engines.htm Both of these motors have the same displacement, same compression ratio, same fuel injection. Where do those extra 10 horses come from? Flunky |

I am not very sure, but things like intake manifold, exhaust manifold, exhaust....you get my point.

I think thats the wrong info. Its called b18a and it has 130 hp and the b18b has 142. I believe the cams are different but thats all i know so far.

thats wrong. they mean B18A and B18B. the B18A has 130hp not 140hp because it has a slightly poorer head design.

Head design, cams, that sounds about right.
I feel certain the intake manifold/fuel injection is the same, just 'cause it's so much cheaper to put the same unit on many models throughout the line. I once saw a website that listed the cam profiles for each engine, but now I can't find it. That'd be the way to know for sure whether it was cams or head design. Flunky PS-Anyone know that website is? |
