Why are sk2 cams $200 more than obx and blox?, What's the difference in them?

I found sets of skunk2 and greddy cam shafts for like $550 on ebay
and the OBX and Blox sets were only like $340.

Same thing with the cam gears. Are skunk2's really that much better?
Is there a difference in design?

skunk2 did all the R&D and uses top notch production methods... hence the price... OBX and such basically took a skunk2 cam, copied the design and sent it out to some chinese sweatshop to make AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE... so tel me.. is 200$ worth risking your ent ire motor?

Well isn't it just a piece of steel? If it is the same design, I don't see how the extra cash is worth spending. I've never heard of an engine failing because of a semi-off brand camshaft. What could happen? Could it break or warp?

Its not just a piece of steel.... and different machining methods can effect the integrity of the cam as well...

I wouldnt trust my motor to an off brand cam shaft... but its your call

Not all metal is the same, and not all cams are the same. Cheaper materials and cheaper manufacturing = cheaper cost. It's not worth risking a motor. Save $200 now, spend a lot more later...

For the record, check out Brian Crower Cams. BC makes very very good product, it might cost more, but worth every penny. You will NOT have to worry about the integrity or quality of a BC product.

I can also vouch for BC cams. I have their Stage 2 Turbo Cams and dual race valve springs.. Very good product..
