S15 progress pics - FINISHED

Hi guys,
i'm a new guy here. Just discovered this forum about two weeks ago and i've to say this forum is really awesome, lots of experts and good tips/info here.
anyway, i'm sort of a beginner. I say sort of because i did do some modelling when i was younger but the result was terrible and this is my first attempt to re-enter the model world and hopefully my model will be much better than before after reading the msgs from this forum.

ok i'm building two Fujimi S15 at the moment. and here are some pics i took today.

There are some earlier progress pics under this thread:
"Carbon fibre decals, how to apply?"
however, i've decided to stripped the paint off the gold one because i was not really happy with it (lots of dust, paint too thick...etc) and i've repainted that one using a slightly different colour...

suggestions/comments are welcome as i'm still learning and trying to improve. If you guys are interested, i'll post up some pics later

cheers,
Richard

oh about the black roof.... for those who are really into japanese car tuning, you should notice that i'm following the "D-Style" silvia colour scheme anyway I believe not everyone will like it but i myself really like it that's why i picked this colour scheme..

but no, before you ask, i'm not going to copy the whole car completely because i don't have the skills to do that just the colour scheme

orange peel: can someone explain to me what it really is? maybe some pic example somewhere? is that the paint looks smooth.. but the reflection shows something a bit distorted? like what you'll find on a real car? or is it the paint not smooth at all? i didn't polish the roof too much because the paint was quite thin so i'm worried that it may be polished back to the primer if i keep polishing it

Cool, it looks great. I like the idea of the black roof. In the picture of the real car, it has a big wing in the back... are you gonna put that on the model???

Oh yeah... WELCOME TO AF!!!!! :jumpie:

Thanks TheSyndicate for the pic.. i may try polish the roof a bit more and see if i can remove the orange peel

Yes, i'll add a GT wing to it. I've ordered the SAS GT wing and hopefully it will arrive today or tomorrow I've also bought some Weds TC-005 17in wheels but i may just put the factory wheels on (painted in gun-metal)

Great paint job!
I don't see any orange peel on it, the paint job looks so smooth and shiny.

Love it, That's one of my favorite S15's. My friend just made a 1/10 S15 with that paint scheme but the orange of yurs was like a goldish light brown, looked great.

BTw, Do you have the pic of the s15 box for which this one is? I want a s15 and this one seems to have the Look I want. Thanks.

hey man, that car looks bloody awesome! i'm always game for a good S15, since it IS my dream car...

just a correction. the car you're trying to replicate is actually the M Sports S15...

heee well i don't really know whether i should call it M Sports or D-style or M Sports D style

here is the box pic:

the white one is the orange one i'm building (standard Spec-R)
the silver one is the aero version. I would suggest you get the silver one as it basically is the same + it has additional foglights, sideskirts and rear spoiler.
