Did you clean the molding oils off the model car body first?

Tried a couple of colours in the Krylon range, give good coverage and give a good smooth surface. The thing I dont like is the'adjustable no waste nozzels' which to me are a pain to use as the paint refuses to go where I want it to, I pulled off the nozzel to use one off another brand and the valve system is completely different no what you would class as normal, anyone found the same problem? and is there a cure? as I said the paint seems fine but the delivery system is frustrating
