Thumbs up Another SR20 build

Wow just getting back into modeling and Im already getting a little bored with the Mustang. Thought I'd start on my Vertex Ridge S15 I've had for awhile now, but of course I wasn't completly satisfied with what the kit had to offer. Which leads to me making a motor for it, which is always my favorite part of a model any ways.

So far I have the block and head roughed out and the valve cover nearly complete. I've never attempted anything like this so bear with me

Well they require a minimum of a $25 purchase + shipping, and the blocks dont look that accurate. I figured I have the patience, and I'm hoping the skill to do this myself. So far so good.

A lil something, little by little. Got some putty on the valve cover, still need to add the oil cap recess and cap, and some bolts. Block is slowly shaping up. Have yet to start any work on the cylinder head and front cover.

Some reference shots...

And what I have so far....

Re: Another SR20 build

I have been looking at your SR build, I must say, you are doing a great job! When I saw this, I thought someone was jacking my pictures and using them on their own build thread! hahaha

I need to dig mine out again, I've not worked on it for 2 years now. I think it's time to get it wrapped up.

Here's a link to mine if you want some motivation.
My SR20DET build thread on A/F

It seems that we have the same ideas of how it should go together and what materials and techniques to use. Keep up the great work! Maybe I should bring mine back out and "race" you to the finish! hahaha

Re: Another SR20 build

That's looking really good! I've scratchbuilt a few engines myself, but I've never tried the SR20.
